Job summary

GlobalLogic is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead device software for Android Automotive OS and embedded platforms. You will design and implement across large codebases, work with Linux environments, and contribute to test automation and AI integration.

You will collaborate in a global team, tackle CI/CD challenges, and drive continual modernization of our automotive infotainment stack while delivering robust, scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of work experience with AOSP/Android Automotive OS platform and app development (Java, Kotlin, Python)
• 5+ years of work experience with embedded systems (C & C++)
• Familiarity with large code repositories and Linux environments
• Experience with test automation and AI development
• Knowledge of CI environments and Git workflows

Responsibilities

• Design and build software for AOSP and Android Automotive OS using Java, Kotlin, Python, C, and C++
• Develop low-level code within Linux environments across large codebases
• Build and maintain automated tests using TDD and AI-assisted development
• Maintain and optimize CI toolchains and Git workflows
• Develop infotainment software and perform fault tracing and diagnostics
• Address Android OS uplift challenges and system migrations
• Propose technical improvements to stay at the front end of development

Requirements

We are looking for Senior Software Engineer with

• Android, Java, Kotlin, C++ and Python as their main language as well as an understanding of system architecture

• candidate has strong communication and analytical skills as well as an automated test-driven focus.
• person with a proactive approach, a problem solver and a flexible team player.
• The candidate is structured, enthusiastic, self-driven and have a high ability to work in teams as well as individually.

To be successful in this role, your experience must include:

• 5+ years of work experience with AOSP/AndroidAutomotive OS – platform and app development, including Java, Kotlin and Python languages
• 5+ years of work experience with embedded systems preferably with C & C++ implementations
• Be familiar and comfortable with working in large code repositories
• Working experience in a development environment (e.g. git, Linux)
• Test automation, including maintenance and development
• Proven specification and test-driven AI development implementations
• Be familiar with CI toolchain and CI environment to provide support and contribute to team specific needs
• Bring forward new ideas, improvements and concepts to continuously be at the front end of development for our customers

We’d also prefer if you have:

• Experience from Automotive Infotainment domain, including fault tracing in vehicle
• Previous working experience with android uplift challenges
• A Swedish driver’s license (B-level) will also be ideal
• University degree in SW engineering, computer science or similar

You must be fluent in English (verbal and written) and be comfortable with tools such as Git, Gerrit, Jira, Copilot and VS Code.

Job responsibilities

• Platform & Application Development: Design and build software for AOSP and Android Automotive OS using Java, Kotlin, Python, C, and C++.
• Embedded Systems & Repository Management: Develop low-level code within Linux environments and work efficiently across large-scale codebases.
• Test Automation & AI Integration: Build and maintain automated tests using Test-Driven Development (TDD) principles and implement AI-assisted development practices.
• CI/CD & Toolchain Support: Maintain and optimize team-specific Continuous Integration (CI) toolchains and Git workflows.
• Automotive Infotainment & Diagnostics: Develop infotainment software and perform on-vehicle fault tracing and troubleshooting.
• System Uplifts: Resolve complex challenges associated with migrating and updating Android OS versions (Android uplift).
• Innovation & Process Improvement: Proactively propose new concepts, technical improvements, and modern methodologies to maintain product competitiveness.
