Job summary

Videberg Kraft AB is seeking an experienced Procurement Lawyer to shape legally robust procurement practices for its new nuclear power project in Sweden.

You will provide legal support across engineering, construction, and supply chain activities, and work with multiple stakeholders to define risk allocation, contract terms, and contracting models for large-scale civil works.

Qualifications

• Is a qualified lawyer with several years of experience from a law firm or in-house legal function.
• Has documented experience of working with large engineering, procurement and construction projects, including large civil works and regulated procurement processes.
• Has excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain legal requirements clearly to non-legal stakeholders.
• Is fluent in written and spoken Swedish and English.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal support for the project activities in all phases of engineering, construction, large-scale civil works and relevant supply chain activities.
• Establish legally robust procurement processes, governance structures and contract terms for the project.

Procurement Lawyer

Being part of the development of new nuclear power in Sweden is a unique opportunity – and a central part of the future sustainable energy supply.

Videberg Kraft is building a new nuclear power company from the ground up, where robust procurement, contracting and supplier arrangements are essential to the development, construction and future operation of Sweden’s new nuclear power. As a project company, Videberg Kraft’s mission is to develop, construct, and operate Sweden’s future nuclear power.

We are looking for an experienced Procurement Lawyer to play a key role in establishing legally robust procurement practices for the project.

Your role

In this role, you will provide legal support for the project activities in all phases of engineering, construction, large-scale civil works and relevant supply chain activities. You will work closely with various parts of the project to establish and ensure that the procurement processes are legally robust, transparent, proportionate and commercially sound.

Your focus areas

• Provide legal advice on procurement strategies, contracts and procedures in accordance with applicable laws and legislation, industry best practices and relevant governance frameworks.
• Work closely with relevant stakeholders to establish and maintain procurement processes and governance structures for the project’s procurement initiatives. This includes defining risk allocation, contract terms and contracting models for large-scale civil works and all sourcing required (direct and indirect).
• Identify and manage legal risks throughout the procurement process.

We are looking for someone who

• Is a qualified lawyer with several years of experience from a law firm or in-house legal function, with strong professional integrity and understanding of procurement-related legislation, administrative law principles, and construction-related risks.
• Has documented experience of working with large engineering, procurement and construction projects, including large civil works and regulated procurement processes.
• Has excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain legal requirements clearly to non-legal stakeholders.
• Is fluent in written and spoken Swedish and English.
