Job summary

Videberg Kraft AB is seeking a proactive Financial Controller to join the Finance team in Sweden. You will blend operational accounting with financial analysis and reporting, ensuring smooth processes and providing insights for leadership in a growing, project-driven environment.

You will drive month-end activities, build financial models in Excel, and contribute to KPI development and process automation while collaborating with management and cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Several years of hands-on experience within accounting and financial systems.
• Solid understanding of accounting processes and ability to take ownership and work independently.
• Strong Excel skills and good understanding of financial statements.
• Analytical, structured, and able to balance details with the big picture.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting, including invoice registration and account coding.
• Perform bank, VAT, and AR/AP reconciliations; support month-end and year-end closing.
• Prepare monthly financial reports (P&L, costs, cash flow); track budget vs. actuals.
• Support forecasting and budgeting processes; build basic financial models in Excel.
• Develop and track KPIs (e.g. burn rate); provide financial insights for management.

Financial Controller – Videberg Kraft AB

Being part of the development of new nuclear power in Sweden is a unique opportunity – and a central part of the future sustainable energy supply.

Videberg Kraft is building a new nuclear power company from the ground up, where strong financial processes, transparency, and data-driven decision-making are critical to the success of the project. As a project company, Videberg Kraft’s mission is to develop, construct, and operate Sweden’s future nuclear power.

We are now looking for a Financial Controller who is curious, analytical, and thrives in a dynamic project environment where both structure and hands‑on execution are equally important.

Your role

As Financial Controller in the Finance team, you will combine operational accounting responsibilities with financial analysis and reporting. You will play a key role in ensuring that our financial processes run smoothly, while also contributing to building and structuring these processes and supporting management with insights and decision‑making in a growing and fast‑paced environment.

Operational accounting

• Manage day-to-day accounting, including invoice registration and account coding
• Perform account reconciliations (bank, VAT, accounts receivable/payable)
• Support month‑end and year‑end closing processes

Controlling and analysis

• Prepare monthly financial reports (P&L, costs, cash flow)
• Follow up on budget vs. actuals and analyze deviations
• Support forecasting and budgeting processes
• Build and maintain basic financial models in Excel
• Develop and track key performance indicators (e.g. burn rate)
• Support management with financial insights and decision‑making material

Process and development

• Improve and document financial processes
• Contribute to automation and digitalization initiatives
• Ensure data quality in financial systems
• Participate in the implementation of tools (ERP, BI, invoicing systems)

We are looking for someone who

• Has several years of hands‑on experience within accounting and financial systems
• Has a solid understanding of accounting processes and is comfortable taking ownership and working independently
• Has strong Excel skills and a good understanding of financial statements
• Is analytical, structured, and comfortable working with both details and the bigger picture
• Is self-driven, proactive, and thrives in a dynamic environment where structure needs to be created
• Has a strong business mindset and is comfortable working across both operational and analytical tasks
• Fluency in Swedish and English

It is a plus if you also have

• Experience from building or developing financial processes, ideally in a start‑up, scale‑up or project environment
• Experience with BI tools
