Job summary

Vestas is seeking a Plant Technical Support Engineer, Specialist to bridge people, departments and the business with strong communication and leadership. You will act as the technical anchor for the department, reporting to the Director and guiding the technical agenda.

You will drive stakeholder engagement across global and regional communities, assess escalations, align initiatives with business value, and help translate R&D outputs into operational deployments for wind power plants.

Qualifications

• Educational background in Information Technology, Automation or Telecommunications.
• Solid leadership skills, either as a project manager or people leader.
• Knowledge of the wind industry; experience with SCADA systems would be valued.
• Fluency in English, both orally and in writing.
• Great communication skills; ability to explain complex technical topics clearly.
• Ability to work independently and set direction for a team.

Responsibilities

• Act as the technical anchor for the department and report to the Director.
• Lead in implementation of new products from R&D and coordinate operational deployment.
• Engage in technical escalations and risks affecting the business.
• Anchor point for four technical communities, ensuring initiatives are aligned and create business value.
• Provide input to management on technical gaps, prioritisation, regional risks, etc.

Then we have the position for you! Vestas is looking for a Plant Technical Support Engineer, Specialist (m/f/d))!

Region NCE and Global Offshore > NCE > Technical Operations North

Technical Operations is part of Service NCE (Northern & Central Europe) and supports the organization in installing and servicing a great number of SCADA systems, controlling medium and large sized wind power plants. Our mission is to transform a group of wind turbines into a fully operational power plant that meets contractual and regional specifications.

Our customers can mainly be found among larger power supply companies and professional investors.

Responsibilities

As a Specialist for Plant Operations, we will be the technical anchor for the whole department. You will report to the Director and contribute to the strategy and technical agenda.

• Have the overview of new products coming from R&D and be part of operational implementation
• Engage in technical escalations and risks to our business
• Anchor point for our 4 technical communities, making sure initiatives are aligned and create value for the business
• Stakeholder engagement, be part of global and regional communities
• Give input to the management on technical gaps, prioritisation, regional risks etc.

Qualifications

We are looking for candidates who have demonstrated leadership experience in a technical environment. For this position it is not your technical skills that will matter most, but more your ability to see synergies, align stakeholders and guide the technical agenda so it adds value to the business. You will be part of an operational department, but you will be the one with the helicopter view.

Additional information

Your primary work location will be Aarhus or Videbæk, Denmark, but could also be in Malmö, Sweden, Husum or Hamburg, Germany.You should expect some travel activity, approximately 20 days per year.
