Job summary

Hitachi Energy Sweden AB in Västerås invites a skilled software engineer to join as System Development Specialist to help shape and evolve the Manufacturing Execution System (MES). You will design and implement .NET desktop and web apps, REST APIs, CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps, and collaborate across teams to modernize the tech stack while ensuring reliable operations in manufacturing environments.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in software development with C# and .NET is required.
• Minimum 3 years of experience with REST Web APIs and modern HTML/CSS front-ends is required.
• Experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps preferred) is required.
• Proficiency with Visual Studio and SQL Server Management Studio is advantageous.
• Strong relational database design, SQL querying, and performance optimization knowledge.
• Experience developing web applications; desktop app experience is a plus.
• Experience with SOA and basic DevOps/deployment automation is preferred.
• Interest in cyber and information security, including access control.
• Experience with unit testing and automation initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Analyze business and technical requirements to design and implement software solutions
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle from design to deployment and maintenance
• Develop and maintain .NET applications (desktop and web) using C#
• Design, build, and document RESTful Web APIs
• Collaborate with team members and cross-functional stakeholders, driving initiatives end-to-end
• Support operators, factory staff, and warehouse personnel using the MES
• Work with Git repositories and CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps
• Write and maintain unit tests and contribute to automation initiatives
• Participate in migrating the MES to a new generation tech stack, and bring ideas to shape its future evolution
