Job summary

Sandvik IT is seeking a Lead Solution Architect for Cloud and Security to shape the enterprise connectivity strategy across private Azure, AWS and other clouds. You will translate business needs into secure, scalable solutions and guide product evolution in a global, virtual team.

You will drive governance, automation and AI-enabled workflows across Sandvik’s connectivity services, working with product teams, architects and service partners in Stockholm or Sandviken.

Qualifications

• 10+ years’ experience in designing and architecting core network and security solutions, including multicloud access and application connectivity
• Strong knowledge of global network infrastructure, DDI, IPAM and network security
• Solid experience with Microsoft Azure and knowledge of AWS/Google Cloud as an advantage
• Experience with automation technologies such as GitHub Actions, Terraform, shell scripting, YAML, APIs, CI/CD and SQL
• Experience using Claude or similar AI platforms to enhance programming in Python and other languages
• Understanding of security standards (ISO27001, NIST, NIS2, etc.)
• University degree in IT or equivalent, with excellent English communication skills

• Design and present solutions addressing technical, functional and financial requirements
• Translate business requirements into technical solutions including design, output and implementation plans
• Govern partner-delivered services through clear acceptance criteria, QA and delivery follow-up
• Manage service scope, operational boundaries and service catalogue governance
• Drive continuous improvement, cost management and innovation across IT and OT connectivity services
• Identify and capture use-cases for AI and automation implementations
• Contribute to building a high-performing team in a global virtual structure
• Advise Sandvik functions on topics related to your area

About Your Job

As Lead Solution Architect for Cloud and Security, you lead the technological and functional development of connectivity solutions across private Azure, AWS and other cloud environments. Your scope also covers network services and security for our on‑premises data centers, along with IPAM, DDI and network automation products. Examples of platforms include Infoblox & F5 platforms, cloud connectivity and security functions (e.g. Frontdoor, WAF, etc).

Working closely with the Product Team, customer representatives and other stakeholders, you translate business needs into secure, feasible solutions and guide the continued evolution of the product.

This role has extensive exposure to network security standards and concepts were acting in advisory capacity around application connectivity and security questions is expected.

We’re on an AI and automation journey, and this role is instrumental in driving the automation initiative forward. Performing analysis of existing business processes and turning them into automated, machine executed solutions is a key part of this role.

Job Responsibilities

• Define and drive the technological function roadmap for enterprise users, service and application connectivity in cross team collaboration.

• Govern partner-delivered services through clear acceptance criteria, quality assurance and delivery follow‑up.
• Manage service scope, operational boundaries and service catalogue governance.
• Drive continuous improvement, cost management and innovation across IT and OT connectivity services.
• Identify and capture usecases for AI and automation implementation, driving a rapid increase in machine‑based operations of the area.
• Contribute to building a high performing team in a global virtual team structure.
• Act in advisory capacity across Sandvik functions on topics relating to your area.

Location

This position is based at World Trade Center in Stockholm or Mossvägen in Sandviken.

Your profile

We’re looking for a business‑oriented solution architect with extensive expertise in IT communications for applications, services and cloud solutions. Your background combines network and security architecture with an understanding of the IT and OT communications market.

Your background includes

• 10+ years’ experience in designing and architecting core network and security solutions, including multicloud access and application connectivity
• Strong knowledge of global network infrastructure, DDI, IPAM and network security.
• Solid experience working with Microsoft Azure and an understanding of multicloud environments. Knowledge of AWS or Google Cloud is an advantage.
• Conceptual or architectural knowledge of automation technologies such as GitHub Actions, Terraform, shell scripting, YAML, APIs, CI/CD and SQL.
• Experience in using Claude or similar AI platforms to create and enhance programming in Python and other similar languages
• Solid experience and knowledge around security requirements, mitigating actions and compliancy demands for common standards (e.g. ISO27001, NIST, NIS2, etc.)
• A relevant university degree in IT, or equivalent knowledge gained through working experience, together with excellent English communication skills.
