Job summary

Sandvik seeks a Lead Solution Architect for Larger Connectivity to drive the WAN and Edge Security product strategy across a global organization. You translate business needs into secure, scalable architectures and guide product evolution in line with strategic objectives, collaborating with the Product Team, stakeholders and external partners.

The role requires a business-oriented mindset, 10+ years in secure communications, and deep knowledge of SD-WAN, SSE, SASE, firewalls, and IT/OT

Qualifications

• 10+ years of hands-on experience with the latest technologies used in secure communication.
• Strong knowledge of SD-WAN, MPLS, VPN, SSE, SASE, Firewalls in IT and OT environments.
• Experience with security standards (ISO27001, NIST, NIS2) and compliance demands.
• Experience in designing business cases and supporting implementations.
• Familiarity with zero-trust, cloud communication and related areas.

• Define and drive the technological and functional roadmap for Larger Connectivity.
• Help prioritize the product backlog in line with business objectives and qualified demand.
• Govern partner-delivered services through clear quality standards and delivery outcomes.
• Create and present solutions and business cases addressing technical and financial needs.
• Manage service scope and governance across business and IT.
• Drive continuous improvement, value realization, cost management and innovation across WAN, SSE, carriers, remote access and firewall services in IT and OT.
• Contribute to building a high performing team in a global virtual structure.
• Advise across Sandvik functions on topics related to your area.

About Your Job

As Lead Solution Architect for Larger Connectivity, you lead the technological development of our WAN and Edge Security products. You turn business needs into clear priorities, shape secure and feasible solution architectures, and guide product evolution in line with strategic objectives. Working closely with the Product Team, stakeholders and external partners, you balance quality, functionality and cost across the product lifecycle.

Our current technical platforms include products from HPE/Aruba (EdgeConnect), Fortinet, Zscaler, Cisco as well as smaller niche vendors.

Job Responsibilities

• Define and drive the technological and functional roadmap for Larger Connectivity.
• Help prioritize the product backlog in line with business objectives and qualified demand.
• Govern partner-delivered services through clear quality standards, acceptance criteria and delivery outcomes.
• Create and present solutions and business cases that address technical and financial needs.
• Manage service scope, operational boundaries and service catalogue governance while aligning stakeholders across business and IT.
• Drive continuous improvement, value realization, cost management and innovation across WAN, Secure Service Edge, carrier, remote access and firewall services in IT and OT environments.
• Contribute to building a high performing team in a global virtual team structure.
• Act in advisory capacity across Sandvik functions on topics relating to your area.

Location

This position is based at World Trade Center in Stockholm or at Mossvägen in Sandviken.

Your profile

You’re a business-oriented Solution Architect with extensive expertise in IT communication for applications, services and cloud solutions. Your background combines solution design, business case development and implementation, supported by a strong understanding of the IT and OT communication market.

Your background includes

• 10+ years of hands-on experience with the latest technologies used in secure communication with proven track record.
• Strong knowledge of SD-WAN, MPLS, VPN, SSE, SASE, Firewalls and overlay technologies across IT and OT environments.
• Solid experience and knowledge around security requirements, mitigating actions and compliancy demands for common standards (e.g. ISO27001, NIST, NIS2, etc.)
• Extensive experience creating designs and business case calculations and supporting implementation activities.
• Familiarity with network technologies in zero trust, transport/LEO Satellite and cloud communication; additional knowledge in these areas is an advantage.
• A relevant university degree in IT or equivalent experience gained through work.
• Excellent spoken and written English; Swedish is advantageous.
