Job description

Sectra One Cloud serves the world's largest diagnostic imaging providers. When incidents happen at scale, you'll investigate the complex technical failures that matter. You'll develop deep expertise in our products, cloud infrastructure, and systems, turning incident patterns into proactive engineering that prevents entire categories of failures.

This is your chance to master technical reliability on a mission-critical healthcare platform at a pivotal growth stage. You'll work alongside experienced troubleshooters who live and breathe incident investigation.

About the Role

Location: Linköping, Sweden

You’ll join the Response Team, a core of experienced engineers who drive advanced incident response and technical depth. The work centers on investigation and pattern recognition: understanding how our systems behave under stress, recognizing failure modes, and identifying systemic improvements.

As a junior engineer, you’ll start with structured incident investigations, learning from senior engineers how to trace architectures and identify root causes. You’ll grow into identifying patterns in our incidents and proposing improvements. Within your first year, you’ll move toward leading reliability initiatives, from defining technical standards to optimizing our systems for observability.

This role demands curiosity. You’ll dig into failures because you genuinely want to understand them. You don’t stop at fixing symptoms; you find the architectural change that prevents the problem from happening again.

You’ll work hands‑on with our products and services, improving tools and best practices. You’ll collaborate across our global organization and with development teams, learning not just how systems work, but why reliability matters in healthcare.

Key Responsibilities
Investigate incidents (starting point)
  • Conduct technical investigations of incidents under guidance from experienced engineers
  • Learn to trace system architectures, analyze anomalies, and identify root causes
Recognize patterns and propose improvements (growth over months)
  • Analyze what incidents reveal about systemic weaknesses
  • Identify recurring failure patterns alongside senior engineers
  • Help develop playbooks and tools; contribute to product improvement proposals
Drive reliability improvements (as you develop expertise)
  • Establish best practices for how services should be architected and deployed
  • Guide product teams on technical decisions affecting operational stability
Enhance our observability
  • Contribute to improvements in monitoring and tracing
  • Use incident investigations to identify gaps in visibility

We also want you to have a strong analytical mindset in which we consider it to be important that you can understand and break down and solve problems. We also look for good communicators who have the ability to interact with colleagues, partners and customers in an effective, clear and constructive way.

You bring:
  • Strong computer science fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, networking, software architecture)
  • Genuine curiosity about system behavior, you dig into anomalies because you want to understand them fully
  • Passion for turning reactive incidents into proactive improvements
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills; comfort working across global teams
  • Curiosity and learning agility; ability to adapt to new domains and tools
Nice to have:
  • Interest in performance engineering and optimization at scale
  • Background in medical imaging, healthcare IT, or healthcare systems (DICOM, HL7/FHIR, imaging pipelines)
  • Experience with Windows, MS SQL Server, cloud infrastructure (Azure/VMware), Active Directory, scripting
  • Database knowledge: scaling, replication, failure modes, optimization
  • Network troubleshooting: TCP/IP, DNS, load balancing, security
Why Join Us?
  • Learn from the best: Your team includes experts in large-scale systems and incident response
  • Own impact: Your improvements directly improve reliability for healthcare providers worldwide
  • Grow fast: Within your first year, you'll move from learning investigations to leading reliability initiatives
