Ready for your next chapter? We're looking for an IT Operations Specialist to join our team in Stockholm!
About the Role
Do you want to architect, develop, and take technical ownership of modern cloud Digital Workplace platforms while remaining hands-on, managing daily operations and handling routine workplace IT tasks?
The IT Operations team is currently scaling its responsibilities and operations. While Storytel’s core IT landscape is primarily built around Google Workspace and macOS, we are taking over IT responsibilities for group companies that mainly operate on Microsoft 365. This role acts as the technical bridge for this expansion, bringing increased technical complexity, multi‑tenant environments, and global reach.
In this role you will step into a vital and highly versatile position. The primary focus will be acting as our internal driver for MDM and Microsoft 365 governance, while also managing a wide array of different systems, applications, processes, and projects. Simultaneously you will remain hands‑on, supporting the team in daily operations and taking ownership of Workplace IT.
Growth & Opportunities
For an ambitious candidate who successfully takes ownership and elevates our MDM and M365 environments, there are great opportunities to gradually shape the role and dive deeper into specialized infrastructure engineering and governance as our landscape evolves.
Core Responsibilities
- MDM Evolution & Management: Take ownership of managing and developing our device management across our hybrid device fleet with Microsoft Intune and Jamf. Architect, build, and maintain secure device configurations while focusing on creating a great user experience with a distinct Storytel look and feel across all endpoints.
- M365 & Identity Governance: Architect, configure, and manage our Microsoft 365 environments within a complex multi‑tenant structure. These environments are tightly integrated with Okta as part of an advanced identity architecture, utilizing HRiS as a source.
- SaaS System Administration: Daily administration, user lifecycle management, and optimization of various SaaS systems used and provided across the group.
- IT Projects & Continuous Improvement: Actively lead and execute various internal IT projects, driving the onboarding of new group environments and constantly leveling up our technical setup.
- Vendor Management & Procurement: Manage relationships and contracts with external IT vendors, hardware suppliers, and SaaS providers. Oversee software licensing, optimize procurement processes, and ensure we partner with the right external stakeholders.
Operational & Workplace Responsibilities
- Office & AV technology: Drive continuous improvement and development of our office technology and meeting rooms, while overseeing daily operations and support.
- IT‑Equipment Management: Manage IT equipment lifecycle operations (procurement, inventory logistics, and on/offboarding setups) for a device fleet consisting primarily of MacBooks, alongside an increasing number of Windows devices.
- Daily IT‑support: Handle a broad variety of daily support requests from our end‑users, both on‑site and remote, ranging from complex technical troubleshooting to routine autopilot tasks.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Technical Experience: At least 3–5 years of experience working within IT operations, modern workplace management, or system administration.
- MDM & M365 Expertise: Proven experience configuring and administering Microsoft Intune (device configuration, compliance policies, deployment) and managing Microsoft 365 environments. Experience with multi‑tenant setups is a major plus.
- Hands‑on IT Support: Solid experience handling day‑to‑day workplace IT, end‑user support, and hardware lifecycle management.
- Advanced Workstation & OS Expertise: Deep technical knowledge of both Windows and macOS ecosystems, naturally becoming the go‑to person in the team for anything related to computer management and troubleshooting.
- Bonus Platform Knowledge: Experience with Okta, Google Workspace and Jamf is a strong advantage.
- Language: Professional fluency in English, both written and spoken.
Who You Are
- Autonomous & Driven: You don't wait for instructions. You identify what needs to be done, set your own agenda, and drive your initiatives to completion with high energy.
- AI‑Forward & Efficiency‑Minded: You have a strong understanding of how to leverage AI to optimize your work. Actively finding ways to integrate AI into our systems to automate processes is critical to your success in this role.
- Genuinely Tech‑Savvy: You love technology and are motivated by continuous improvement. You take great pride in delivering high‑quality, stable, and well‑structured solutions.
- People‑Centric & Service‑Minded: You are a genuine "people person" who excels at building relationships. You will interact extensively with users both at the office and in various other contexts, making a highly service‑oriented mindset and strong interpersonal skills essential.
- Humble & Versatile (Prestigeless): You move seamlessly between high‑level cloud architecture and helping a colleague with an urgent hardware issue. You are ready to work broadly and jump in wherever the team needs you most.
- Process‑Mind: You have a natural ability to see the bigger picture and design structured, scalable processes rather than relying on ad‑hoc fixes.
Location & Workplace
We operate on trust, meaning you have the freedom to manage your own calendar, shape your week, and adjust your daily working hours to fit your life.
Since a vital part of your role involves managing our physical office ecosystem and hands‑on device troubleshooting, this role naturally relies on your physical presence at our Stockholm HQ on a daily basis. However, you will have autonomy over your daily calendar and how you pace your hours.
What We Offer
A role with high autonomy, immense learning potential, and the chance to leave your mark on a global IT infrastructure from day one. You will join a skilled team that values initiative, continuous learning, and having fun along the way.
