Job summary

Sweco is seeking an Interim Group Legal Counsel to support the Group Legal function in Stockholm during a parental leave period. The role focuses on corporate law and M&A, providing pragmatic, business-oriented legal advice to senior stakeholders.

You will work closely with the General Counsel and internal teams across Europe, handling complex transactions, governance matters and day-to-day legal support in an international environment. Fluency in Swedish and English is required.

Qualifications

• Swedish law degree or equivalent academic qualification.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in corporate law and M&A.
• Strong commercial awareness and pragmatic advice.
• Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently in a changing international environment.
• Proficiency in Swedish and English (written and spoken).

Responsibilities

• Provide senior legal support on corporate law and M&A.
• Support the Group in corporate transactions, governance and other strategic matters.
• Draft, review and negotiate agreements and other legal documentation.
• Work closely with internal stakeholders and external advisors as required.
• Identify legal and commercial risks and translate these into actionable advice.
• Support the General Counsel and Group Legal with day-to-day legal matters.
• Contribute to efficient ways of working, including the use of digital tools and legal technology.
