About the role

We are looking for an experienced legal and insurance professional to join Sweco Group and play a key role in developing and managing our global insurance programmes and risk management processes. This is an opportunity to take on a central role in shaping insurance and risk management across one of Europe's leading consulting companies. The position also includes supporting the continued development of Sweco’s captive and reinsurance operations.

Responsibilities

• Support the management and development of insurance programmes across Sweco Group, including annual procurement and renewal processes.
• Act as an internal subject-matter expert on insurance coverage, primarily in relation to professional indemnity and general liability insurance, and negotiate Sweco Group’s insurance policies, reinsurance programmes, broker agreements and selected ICT-related service agreements.
• Coordinate insurance programmes with appointed brokers and insurers and ensure that the Group obtains appropriate coverage at a competitive cost during renewal.
• Monitor developments in the insurance market and continuously assess whether the Group’s insurance programmes remain sufficient as the business evolves.
• Manage day-to-day insurance matters, working closely with internal stakeholders, insurers, brokers and other service providers.
• Maintain and develop insurance-related risk management processes, including frameworks for master and excess-layer insurance programmes for PI and GL coverage, premium allocation and related matters.
• Support the business in large and complex claims, improving the claims process and interaction with insurers.
• Ensure quality of procedures relating to premium distribution, claims reporting and insurance documentation and contribute to the Group’s broader risk-management processes and legal compliance.
• Help develop reinsurance procedures for the newly established internal captive and reinsurance operations.

Qualifications

• Academic degree in Law, Engineering, Risk Management or a related field.
• At least five years of experience working with insurance and risk management from a legal perspective.
• Experience with insurance programmes and captive arrangements is an advantage.
• Excellent communicative, interpersonal and analytical skills.
• Business-minded and ability to ensure the best solutions for the Group.
• Comfortable working in a changing environment and experience using digital tools and software solutions to improve efficiency.
• Fluency in Swedish and English, written and spoken.

Location & Reporting

The position is within Group Legal, a function at the Sweco Group Headquarters, located in Stockholm. The position will report to the General Counsel.
