Job summary

Hitachi Energy Ltd. in Sweden seeks an engineer to join the growing plant electrical design team for HVDC converter station projects, based in Ludvika or Västerås.

You will work on plant circuit and cable design, translating customer requirements into high-quality, compliant deliverables. You will collaborate with project teams, suppliers, and specialists to deliver from design through execution, balancing quality, schedule, and technical requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field.
• Experience in a technical engineering role in a project-based environment.
• Ability to collaborate with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong English communication and delivery focus.
• Experience from the energy sector, power systems, HVDC or related industries is valued.

Responsibilities

• Develop plant circuit and cable designs for HVDC converter station projects.
• Translate customer specifications and contractual requirements into compliant engineering deliverables.
• Review and validate technical documentation from suppliers and other stakeholders to ensure compliance.
• Apply established design principles, engineering standards, and base solutions to meet project requirements.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, suppliers, and technical specialists throughout project execution.
• Identify and resolve technical issues, risks, and design deviations that may impact project delivery.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering methods, tools, and design documentation.
