Job summary

Hitachi Energy Sweden, Ludvika, seeks a Lead Engineer - Plants to steer technical leadership for onshore HVDC converter stations and offshore platforms. You will coordinate global teams across Plants and Civil engineering, defining interfaces and ensuring customer requirements, quality and project goals are met.

The role emphasizes strategic decision-making, collaboration with customers, partners and internal teams, and providing expert guidance throughout tenders and projects.

Qualifications

• Academic degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil or related).
• At least 5 years leading technical teams or multidisciplinary projects.
• Experience in HVDC, substations or large energy infra projects is valued.
• Strong technical grasp of HVDC technology and systems.
• Collaborative mindset with stakeholders across functions and geographies.
• Leadership to enable technical decisions when needed.
• Excellent written and spoken English; other languages are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide strong technical leadership across Plants and Civil engineering teams and their interfaces.
• Act as primary technical contact with customers, partners and internal stakeholders.
• Drive completion of engineering activities in tenders and projects.
• Manage technical risks and ensure quality and safety processes.
• Support installation and commissioning with expert guidance.
• Lead development of new technical solutions aligned with customer needs.
• Define Plants and Civil solutions for onshore HVDC stations and offshore platforms.
• Coordinate engineering activities across Electromechanical, Power Systems, Civil and Auxiliaries.
• Represent the Plants discipline in meetings and technical reviews.
