Job summary

ABB Sweden is seeking 1–2 IT Infrastructure professionals to support ABB's High Performance Computing (HPC) platform and software licensing across researchers and R&D departments.

You will install, manage, and optimize HPC hardware and services, apply IT knowledge to solve complex issues, and collaborate to boost efficiency.

The role reports to the IS Manager and requires a degree or equivalent, Linux CLI proficiency, IT security knowledge, strong documentation, and excellent English.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Good understanding of server hardware, data center environments, and enterprise IT infra.
  • Knowledge of IT security principles in server/infrastructure environments.
  • Proficient with Linux system administration via CLI.
  • Strong documentation skills and ability to maintain procedures.
  • Good communication skills in English (spoken and written).
  • Desirable: hands-on experience as a server/infrastructure/HPC operator or sysadmin.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively supporting installation, management, maintenance, and optimization of HPC hardware and services.
  • Identifying IT security risks, mitigations, and lifecycle management of the HPC platform.
  • Installing, testing, and supporting HPC applications such as ANSYS, COMSOL, and MATLAB, and troubleshooting issues.
  • Supporting users in running and optimizing HPC applications and workloads.
  • Managing and optimizing the HPC software license pool, ensuring availability and compliance.

Your Role And Responsibilities

In these roles, you will have the opportunity to support the organization’s vision and strategic direction. You will also showcase your expertise by being a key resource, a definitive source of knowledge about services and solutions, to contribute your expertise to enhance organizational efficiency. These roles supports the operation of ABB's High Performance Computing (HPC) platform and software licensing infrastructure, serving researchers and R&D departments across multiple countries. The HPC environment runs advanced simulation applications including MATLAB and ANSYS. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, combined with collaboration and teamwork abilities, are required for this position. We're seeking 1-2 professionals to join our team. We welcome applications from both junior and senior candidates. The scope and responsibilities will be adjusted based on experience.

You will be mainly accountable for:
