Job summary

Volvo Group DTO seeks a strategic Head of Software Engineering Practice and Collaboration Excellence to define and promote modern software development standards across the organization. This senior leader reports to the SVP Digital Foundations and drives professionalization of software delivery, enabling teams and aligning engineering practices with business goals.

Qualifications

• University degree + several years of experience leading people or leaders in software development.
• Hands-on technical credibility with strong communication skills at technical and executive levels.
• Experience driving change across multiple teams with focus on developer experience.
• Experience with engineering productivity metrics.
• Experience establishing and nurturing communities of practice.

Responsibilities

• Establish and continuously improve software development standards, principles, and ways of working (e.g., DevOps, CI/CD, cloud-native development, security-by-design, test automation).
• Support product and development teams in adopting new tools and practices by removing adoption barriers and coaching teams.
• Develop enablement materials such as playbooks, reference architectures, and learning paths; align with leadership goals.
• Build and nurture communities of practice across software disciplines and promote continuous improvement.
• Define metrics to track adoption, maturity, and impact of practices via dashboards and data-driven refinement.
