Job summary

Saab is seeking a senior leader to head IT Security & Compliance Operations within Group IT. The role focuses on security operations, IAM, monitoring, and compliance across Saab’s digital landscape, enabling secure AI adoption, cloud-native platforms and modernisation.

You will partner with Group CIO and business stakeholders to balance risk, security, and operational delivery while driving a Security First mindset and strong cyber resilience across Saab's global operations.

Qualifications

• Academic degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years IT leadership, including leadership of leaders.
• Extensive experience in security, privacy, IAM and compliance.
• Deep understanding of IT infrastructure, cloud services and applications.
• Proven record transforming security programs in global organisations, ideally defence.

Step into a key leadership role at the heart of Saab’s digital transformation. As Head of IT Security & Compliance Operations within Group IT, you will lead group-wide security capabilities and services, ensuring that Saab’s technology landscape is being transformed while remaining secure, resilient, and compliant in an increasingly complex defence and security environment. You will play a key role in enabling Saab's digital transformation by supporting the adoption of AI, cloud-based technologies, automation, and modern digital platforms.

Your role

As Head of IT Security & Compliance Operations within Saab Group IT, you will be responsible for the delivery and development of key security capabilities, including security operations, identity and access management (IAM), security monitoring, and compliance.

You will drive Saab’s IT transformation agenda forward, ensuring that security and compliance are built into the adoption of AI, cloud-native technologies, automation, and modern digital platforms. This requires close alignment between business needs, security requirements, and operational delivery across Business Areas and Group Functions.

The role includes line management of senior leaders and close collaboration across the organisation to ensure cohesion between strategic direction and operational execution.

In this role, you will:

• Lead and transform Saab’s IT Security & Compliance Operations, IAM, and security monitoring capabilities with focus on cloud, AI and modernisation
• Protect Saab’s information assets, systems and operations by monitoring, detecting responding to and recover from cybersecurity threats and incidents
• Ensure compliance with security policies and regulatory requirements
• Define and drive the roadmap for IT Security & Compliance Operations, including security automation, increased cloud adoption and cloud security monitoring
• Represent Group IT in cross-functional forums and engage with senior business and technology stakeholders
• Cultivate a "Security First" mindset within the organisation

This is a highly visible position that involves frequent interaction with executive stakeholders, and you will report directly to the Saab Group CIO. You will play a central role in strengthening Saab’s cyber resilience and enabling secure digital transformation across the enterprise.

Your profile

We are looking for a senior leader with extensive experience managing complex IT organisations in a global context, preferably in the defence industry, combined with deep expertise in modern cybersecurity, security operations, and compliance.

You have a strong track record of driving transformation and operational improvements with focus on cloud, AI and modern IT infrastructure. Combined with a deep understanding of cybersecurity, risk management and modern technology landscapes including cloud and AI.

You are a relationship-oriented leader who is comfortable representing IT at senior management level, lead through others and drive change in large organisations.

Key qualifications and experience:

• Academic degree in a relevant field, or equivalent experience
• Minimum 10 years of IT management experience, including several years of leadership of leaders
• Extensive experience in security and privacy strategy, security management, security operations, privacy program management and identity and access management
• Deep understanding of IT infrastructure, networks, cloud services, and applications
• Expertise in security frameworks and standards such as ISO 27001, NIST, CIS Controls, etc.
• Knowledge of cryptography, authentication, access control, and other security principles
• Proven experience driving transformation with focus on cloud, AI and modern IT infrastructure and large-scale technology initiatives
• Experience from large global organisations; ideally including defence
• Excellent communication skills and ability to manage complex stakeholder landscapes
• Fluency in both Swedish and English, both written and spoken

This position requires that you pass a security vetting based on the current regulations around security protection. For positions requiring security clearance, additional obligations regarding citizenship may apply.
