Job summary

Saab is seeking an IT Security Specialist to join Business Area Surveillance in an international setting. You will define and validate controls within the Security Management System and drive secure design across the IT lifecycle.

The role requires translating security requirements into technical standards, performing risk assessments, threat modeling, and partnering with architects to enable a business-driven security posture. Fluent Swedish and English are valued.

Qualifications

• University degree and/or relevant experience in IT security, cybersecurity, computer science, or a related field.
• Experience translating security frameworks such as ISO/IEC 27001, NIST 800-171, and/or KSF (Försvarsmaktens krav på säkerhetsfunktioner) into technical baselines and standards.
• Experience conducting technical risk assessments, threat modeling, and vulnerability analysis.
• Strong understanding of secure system design, networking, and security architecture.
• Ability to analyze technical findings and convert them into actionable remediation plans.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical security matters to both technical and non-technical stakeholders in Swedish and English.

We are seeking a highly organized and relationship-driven IT Security Specialist to join our team at Business Area Surveillance. As an IT Security Specialist at Saab, you will work in an international context where advanced security threats, complex IT environments and high-impact business projects are part of the everyday business.

In this role, you will ensure the technical effectiveness of our Security Management System (SMS) by defining and validating the controls that secure our environment. You will be responsible for modernizing our technical oversight and bridging the gap between compliance requirements and operational reality. Acting as the primary lead for technical security validation, you will work closely with IT to provide the necessary oversight and ensure robust risk mitigation throughout the IT system lifecycle.

Your main tasks will be:

Required skills

• University degree and/or relevant experience in IT security, cybersecurity, computer science, or a related field.
• Experience translating security frameworks such as ISO/IEC 27001, NIST 800-171, and/or KSF (Försvarsmaktens krav på säkerhetsfunktioner) into technical baselines and standards.
• Experience conducting technical risk assessments, threat modeling, and vulnerability analysis.
• Strong understanding of secure system design, networking, and security architecture.

• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical security matters to both technical and non-technical stakeholders in Swedish and English.

Desired skills

• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CISA.
• Experience with cloud security, containerization, and microservice environments.
• Experience from the defense industry, government authorities, or global organizations.
• Knowledge of security tools such as vulnerability scanners, SIEM, and IAM solutions.
• Experience with DevSecOps, automation, and continuous compliance monitoring. \
• Experience leading technical security initiatives or projects.

This position requires that you pass a security vetting based on the current regulations around/of security protection. For positions requiring security clearance additional obligations on citizenship may apply.
