Job summary

Gunnebo Safe Storage seeks a Head of Digital R&D Connectivity Platform to lead Gunnebo IQ, a cloud-based platform for connected locking and access solutions. You will build and lead a high-performing organization, delivering secure, scalable digital services aligned with our product strategy and business goals.

You will recruit, onboard, and develop talent, drive platform security and reliability, and collaborate with Product, Firmware, Cloud, and Application teams to continuously improve

Qualifications

• 8–10+ years in digital product development or tech leadership.
• Proven experience leading software/platform teams in agile environments.
• Experience building and operating platform organizations.
• Fluent English.

Responsibilities

• Lead Gunnebo IQ platform organization, ensuring delivery aligned with product roadmaps.
• Oversee day-to-day operations, performance, and execution capacity.
• Ensure secure device connectivity, monitoring, configuration, and lifecycle management.

• Own budget planning, cost control, and financial follow-up.

About the role

We are looking for a Head of Digital R&D Connectivity Platform to lead the development and operation of Gunnebo IQ, our cloud-based digital platform for connected locking and access solutions.

In this role, you will build and lead a high-performing organization, ensuring the platform delivers secure, scalable, and reliable digital services aligned with our product strategy, quality standards, and business goals.

What you will do

Leadership & Delivery

• Lead the Gunnebo IQ platform organization, ensuring delivery aligned with product roadmaps
• Oversee day-to-day operations, performance, and execution capacity
• Ensure secure device connectivity, monitoring, configuration, and lifecycle management
• Act as the primary owner of Gunnebo IQ delivery within Safe Storage

Team & Capability Development

• Recruit, onboard, and develop talent within the platform organization
• Lead, coach, and support high-performing teams
• Build strong capabilities in cloud platforms, integrations, connectivity, and digital security
• Collaborate closely with Product, Firmware, Cloud, and Application teams

Ways of Working & Improvement

• Define and continuously improve development and operational processes
• Ensure adherence to architecture, security, and engineering best practices
• Support effective collaboration in a matrix organization

Performance & Financial Responsibility

• Own budget planning, cost control, and financial follow-up
• Monitor platform performance, reliability, and delivery outcomes
• Provide transparency on capacity, cost, and value delivered

Requirements

What we are looking for

Required experience

• 8-10+ years in digital product development, software engineering, or tech-driven environments
• Proven experience leading software or platform teams in agile environments
• Experience building and operating platform organizations (including mixed sourcing models)
• Strong understanding of modern software engineering and platform-based delivery
• Experience managing delivery performance, cost, and capacity
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills

Nice to have

• Experience in matrix organizations
• Budget ownership and financial management experience
• Background in cloud platforms, IoT, or large-scale software systems
• Previous roles such as Engineering Manager or Head of Development

Skills & knowledge

• Strong understanding of cloud platforms and SaaS solutions
• Experience with IoT or connected products is an advantage
• Solid knowledge of agile development methodologies
• Understanding of platform security, data protection, and reliability

Qualifications

• University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or related field
• Equivalent experience will also be considered
• Fluent English
