Job summary

Astek is seeking a Harness Design Engineer who thrives in complex environments and works across the full development cycle of wiring harness systems for modern vehicles.

You will handle 3D routing, 2D schematics, component selection, testing and production support, collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive innovation in electrical architecture. Fluency in English is required; Swedish is a plus.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of relevant work experience.
• Experience in wiring harness design within the automotive industry.
• Experience using 2D electrical design tools such as Saber, E3, Capital.
• Experience using 3D CAD tools such as Catia or Creo.
• Working with harness prototypes, manufacturing, and production processes.
• Troubleshooting and resolving electrical or system-related issues.
• Understanding of electrical systems, components, and dimensioning.
• Working across different phases of development, from concept to implementation.
• Engineering background in electrical, mechanical, or mechatronics preferred; equivalent experience valued.
• Fluency in English required; Swedish is a plus.

In this role, you will be a central part of developing wiring harness systems that enable modern vehicles to function reliably and efficiently. You will work broadly across the entire process, from 3D routing and installation to 2D schematics, component selection, and system optimization.

The role also includes involvement in prototyping, troubleshooting, and supporting production, giving you a holistic view of how electrical systems come together. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to driving innovation within electrical architecture and harness design.

We believe you have:

• 3+ years of relevant work experience
• Experience in wiring harness design within the automotive industry
• Experience using 2D electrical design tools such as Saber, E3, Capital
• Experience using 3D CAD tools such as Catia or Creo
• Working with harness prototypes, manufacturing, and production processes
• Troubleshooting and resolving electrical or system-related issues
• Understanding of electrical systems, components, and dimensioning
• Working across different phases of development, from concept to implementation

An engineering background within electrical, mechanical, or mechatronics is preferred, but equivalent experience is also valued.
