Job summary

Valmet is seeking an experienced HSE Engineer to drive health, safety, environmental and social responsibility on global projects and on-site locations in Sweden. The role requires strong incident investigation skills, ISO knowledge, and the ability to coach multi-cultural teams across EPC projects.

Based in Gothenburg, Karlstad or Sundsvall, you will supervise on-site activities, drive HSE improvements, audits and training, while collaborating with partners and customers to ensure safe,

Qualifications

• Minimum 5-7 years in HSE plus multi-cultural project experience.
• Experience leading complex cross-functional projects.
• Expertise in site HSE management, risk and EPC projects.
• Academic degree in relevant field; NEBOSH/CSP is a plus.
• Strong incident investigation skills and audits knowledge.
• Fluent English and Swedish, strong communication.
• Skilled with MS Office, Power BI, SharePoint and Teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide project HSE engineer services in nominated EPC and high-risk projects, including 1–4 weeks site presence.
• Provide on-site safety supervisor services for large shutdowns and short projects.
• Train and coach Valmet project and site teams and partners on HSE practices.
• Identify and coordinate the HSE partner network.
• Arrange sub-contractor HSE Days.
• Participate in sub-contractor audits and lead site HSE audits.
• Ensure incidents on customer sites are investigated and communicated, lead serious investigations.
• Contribute to developing Valmet project and site HSE management and social responsibility processes.
