Job summary

Valmet is seeking an HSE Engineer to be based in Gothenburg, Karlstad or Sundsvall. You will secure health, safety, environmental and social responsibility in global customer projects and site sites, leading HSE management and audits.

The role requires 5–7 years in HSE, cross-functional project leadership, and strong incident investigation skills. Fluent English and Swedish are required, with Power BI and MS Office skills and ISO standard knowledge.

Qualifications

• Requires a relevant academic degree (OHS, Environmental Science or similar).
• Professional HSE qualifications such as NEBOSH or CSP are an asset.
• 5–7 years of HSE experience in multi-cultural customer projects and site work.
• Experience leading complex, cross-functional projects in a global setting.
• Proficient in ISO 14001, 45001, 9001 standards and internal audits.

Responsibilities

• Provide project HSE engineering services in nominated EPC and high-risk projects.
• On-site safety supervisor for large shutdowns and short projects.
• Train and coach Valmet project/site organizations on HSE practices.
• Identify and coordinate the HSE partner network.
• Arrange sub-contractor HSE Days and lead site HSE audits.
• Investigate HSE incidents and communicate findings, leading serious investigations.
• Contribute to developing Valmet project/site HSE processes and practices.
