Job summary

Tata Technologies in Gothenburg, Sweden, is seeking a Functional Safety Engineer to support ISO 26262 activities across automotive embedded systems.

You will collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to perform HARA, develop Safety Concepts, review safety work products, and help ensure safe and reliable products.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical/Electronics/Mechatronics/Systems/Computer Engineering (BSc or MSc).
• Experience in automotive/embedded product development.
• Familiarity with ISO 26262 and safety analyses.

Responsibilities

• Support the development and implementation of Functional Safety activities in accordance with ISO 26262.
• Collaborate with system architects, hardware engineers, software engineers, and suppliers to ensure compliance with Functional Safety requirements.
• Participate in Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment (HARA) activities.
• Support the development of Functional Safety Concepts and Technical Safety Concepts.
• Review and assess safety-related work products from suppliers.
• Contribute to safety analyses including FMEA, FTA, DFA, and other safety assessment methods.
• Support the development and verification of safety requirements.
• Participate in technical reviews and safety audits.
• Contribute to issue investigations and root cause analysis from a safety perspective.
• Promote Functional Safety awareness throughout the organization.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience in product development within automotive, embedded systems, or similar industries.
• Interest in Functional Safety and system safety engineering.
• Understanding of electrical, electronic, software, or system development processes.
• Familiarity with automotive development processes and requirements.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
• Curious and structured approach to engineering and problem-solving.
• Ability to understand complex systems and identify potential risks.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills across multiple engineering disciplines.
• Proactive attitude, willingness to learn, and motivation to contribute to safe and reliable products.
• Functional Safety activities in accordance with ISO 26262.
