Job summary

NestAI in Stockholm is seeking a Forward Deployment Lead to own technical delivery and field integration of NestAI’s AI systems for strategic clients. The role combines hands-on engineering with technical project leadership and requires regular customer engagements in Sweden.

You will guide multi-team deployments, define field deployment playbooks, and align client requirements with product R&D while traveling weekly to sites in the Stockholm area and beyond.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in software engineering or AI delivery or embedded software engineering.
• Proven ability to lead multi-team technical projects without direct line-management responsibility.
• Fluent Swedish for client-facing communication with local customers.
• Willingness to travel weekly to customer sites in Stockholm area and across Sweden.

Role Description

We are looking for a Forward Deployment Lead (Forward Deployment Engineering) to join our team full-time in Stockholm. As we are establishing our local office, the role will initially operate in a remote setup, with regular on-site customer visits expected across the Stockholm Metropolitan area and occasional travel elsewhere in Sweden.

In this role, you will own the technical delivery and field integration of NestAI’s physical AI systems for our strategic clients. You will combine hands-on engineering execution with technical project leadership, taking overall responsibility for delivering mission-critical capabilities directly to customer environments. You will serve as the primary technical anchor for customer deployments by guiding engineering teams, setting execution standards, and connecting client operational requirements with product R&D.

Day-to-day responsibilities include:

• Technical Project & Field Leadership: Own the end-to-end technical execution of customer deployments, translating complex operational needs into actionable engineering roadmaps and field-ready capabilities.
• Hands-On Engineering Execution: Actively participate in technical integration, software execution, and system testing directly on client engagements alongside deployment teams.
• Deployment Standards & Best Practices: Define and refine technical deployment methodologies, integration patterns, and operational playbooks for field engineering work.
• Connect the Product & Field: Work hand-in-hand with core R&D, Product Managers, and client technical leads to ensure real-world field feedback directly shapes our core platform roadmap.
• Client Interface & Stakeholder Management: Serve as the trusted technical point of contact during on-site integration, field trials, and capability handovers.
• Delivery Velocity & Risk Management: Track technical deliverables, manage system dependencies, and resolve technical blockers in fast-moving, customer-facing environments.

Qualifications

• Deep experience (equivalent to 8+ years or so) in software engineering, artificial intelligence, embedded sw engineering or technical delivery, with a strong track record of leading complex, multi-team technical projects.
• Proven ability to lead technical execution, architect solutions, and guide engineering teams through complex customer deployments without direct line-management responsibilities.
• Experience in client-facing technical roles, with good interpersonal skills. You are also able to communicate fluently in Swedish with our local customers.
• Comfortable in dynamic, ambiguous environments. You can create operational clarity for engineers and customers when dealing with shifting field requirements.
• Willingness to travel weekly to customer sites in the Stockholm Metropolitan area and occasionally across Sweden.
• Pluses: Strong interest or prior background in IoT, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, robotics, or defence/aerospace technologies.
