Job summary

Niconovum is seeking a proactive Financial Controller in Sweden to own financial reporting, compliance and analysis, collaborating with the Finance Manager and business stakeholders.

You will drive forecasting cycles, month-end closing, VAT/tax compliance, and contribute to continuous improvement and digitalisation across finance. This role offers exposure to the BAT organisation and opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications

• Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
• Experience in accounting, reporting, and closing processes.
• Experience from a dynamic, business-driven environment.
• Strong analytical capabilities and business understanding.
• Fluency in Swedish and English.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with large datasets.
• Experience with external audits and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Analyse financial performance, including actuals vs. forecast, and provide clear, actionable insights
• Build business cases, financial models, and decision-support materials
• Act as a financial sounding board to the Finance Manager and wider business
• Actively contribute to forecasting and financial planning cycles
• Own month-, quarter-, and year-end closing, ensuring accurate statutory and Group reporting and general ledger integrity
• Oversee VAT and tax compliance, and act as a key contact for external audits and banking partners
• Partner with BAT’s Global Business Solutions (GBS) centre to ensure quality, accuracy, and efficiency across shared finance processes
• Ensure and develop internal controls and financial processes
• Drive continuous improvement, digitalisation, and automation within finance
