Job summary

Creditstar Sweden AB is expanding its Swedish finance function and seeks a Financial Controller who will own finance processes in a fast-moving environment. The role combines operational accounting, process improvement, systems development and financial reporting.

The successful candidate will work closely with the CFO, drive monthly closings, and contribute to scalable processes, controls and AI-enabled ways of working within a regulated financial services context in Sweden.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Several years of experience in accounting, financial control or external audit.
• Experience from a regulated environment, financial services, banking or lending and treasury is beneficial, but not a requirement.
• Good understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Professional proficiency in English and Swedish.

Responsibilities

• Ownership of the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing process.
• Preparation and review of balance sheet reconciliations.
• Preparation of financial reporting and supporting analyses.
• Tax calculations, income tax reporting and liaison with external advisors.
• Monitoring and validation of accounting system outputs and interfaces; investigation and resolution of issues.
• Supporting implementations of new systems, processes and reporting solutions.
• Assisting in the development of accounting policies, controls and documentation.
• Supporting audits and interactions with external stakeholders and outsourcing partners.
• Participating in the establishment of scalable finance processes and operating models.
• Contributing to projects relating to regulatory reporting, data quality and finance transformation.

Creditstar Sweden AB is establishing and expanding its Swedish finance function as part of its continued growth and regulatory development. We are looking for a Financial Controller who enjoys building, improving and owning finance processes in a fast-moving environment.

This is a hands‑on role with broad responsibility across accounting, reporting, systems and process development. The successful candidate will work closely with the CFO and play a key role in establishing a scalable and efficient finance function.

About The Role

The role combines operational accounting responsibilities with process improvement, systems development and financial reporting. The position requires a person who enjoys working both in the details and on the bigger picture.

Key responsibilities include:

Requirements
