We are looking for a Field Service technician to join Fike and become a key technical representative at customer sites across Europe.
As a Field Service Engineer, you will be the face of Fike, delivering high-quality technical service on our explosion suppression, explosion venting, and isolation systems. This is an excellent opportunity for a self-motivated, hands-on engineer who enjoys travel, working independently, and solving complex technical challenges.
When you are not travelling, you will work from home, completing service reports, documentation, planning, and other administrative activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out commissioning, preventative and reactive maintenance, inspections, testing, and repairs on Fike explosion protection systems at customer sites.
- Diagnose technical faults, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
- Provide on-site and remote technical support to customers.
- Build strong, professional customer relationships by providing exceptional technical service.
- Maintain accurate service records, reports, and technical documentation.
- Plan and manage your own schedule, including travel, accommodation, and customer visits.
- Travel extensively, sometimes at short notice, across Sweden, the Nordics, and mainland Europe.
- Participate in an emergency call-out rota when required.
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with Fike SHEQ policies and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Support service activities in other European regions when required.
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for someone who combines strong technical ability with a practical, customer-focused approach.
- Strong electrical, mechanical, and electronic engineering skills.
- A multi-skilled engineering background covering electrical, mechanical, controls, and instrumentation.
- The ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, manuals, and other engineering documentation.
- Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills with a strong technical aptitude.
- A calm, professional, and diplomatic approach, particularly when working under pressure.
- The ability to work independently and confidently in a variety of industrial environments.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain technical information clearly to non-technical customers.
- A willingness and ability to travel extensively — approximately 80–90% of the time.
- Residency in Sweden Stockholm.
Qualifications & Experience
- A qualification in a relevant engineering discipline, such as electrical, mechanical, electronics, automation, or a related field.
- Experienced engineers are welcome, but we are also keen to hear from recent graduates with a relevant technical degree.
- For graduates, a strong willingness to learn, passion for technology, and the ability to take responsibility and work independently are essential.
- Good working knowledge of Windows, Gmail, Word, and Excel.
- Fluency in Swedish and English, both written and spoken.
Why Join Fike?
At Fike, you will have the opportunity to build a career with a global company working with advanced, safety-critical technologies.
You can expect:
- The opportunity to join a global, financially stable, privately owned company.
- A high level of autonomy, trust, and responsibility in managing your work.
- Exposure to advanced technologies within the explosion protection and industrial safety sector.
- The opportunity to work with a small, professional, and supportive European team.
- Competitive compensation and travel support.
- A varied role where no two customer sites or technical challenges are exactly the same.
Ready for the Challenge?
If you are a technically minded engineer who enjoys being hands-on, travelling, solving problems, and working directly with customers, we would love to hear from you.
