Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company Sweden is seeking an Emergency Preparedness Coordinator to join our safety and environment team onsite in Västerås. You will drive strategic and operational preparedness efforts, building action plans, registers, and risk minimization strategies.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor's degree in social science or related field, at least three years coordinating emergency preparedness, and experience from a process industry.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in social science or equivalent work experience in crisis and preparedness.
• 3+ years experience coordinating emergency preparedness, preferably in crisis preparedness or continuity management.
• Experience from a process industry.
• Understanding of regulations governing the business.
• Fluent Swedish (speaking and writing).
• Professional proficiency in English.

Responsibilities

• Operational and strategic work within fire safety and risk management area.
• Establish and manage risk assessment work.
• Follow up on regulatory requirements and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Handle contacts with authorities, e.g., reporting incidents and other requested documentation.
• Establish and implement training.
• External monitoring and continuous development and improvement work.

About the role:

As a Emergency preparedness coordinator you will be part of a professional team that works with safety, work environment, and environmental issues. You will work strategically and operational with preparedness. You will lead the work to enable our ability to manage and minimize risks in the form of action plans, registers and action strategies.

You will report to the Director QEHS Sweden and you will work onsite at Bränslegatan, Västerås.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operational and strategic work within fire safety and risk management area.


• Establish and manage risk assessment work


• Follow up on regulatory requirements and ensure regulatory compliance


• Responsibility for contacts with authorities, e.g. reporting incidents and accidents and other requested documentation required by supervisory authorities


• Establish and implement training


• External monitoring and continuous development and improvement work

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in social science or similar field. Alternatively, equivalent work experience in crisis and preparedness.


• 3+ years experience in coordinating emergency preparedness. Preferable in crisis preparedness, civil defence or continuity management.


• Work experience from a process industry


• Understand and work actively with the regulations that govern our business


• Speak and write fluently in Swedish


• Professional proficency in English.
