Job summary

W Electric Sweden AB in Västerås is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer for mechanical components. You will lead quality inspections, review control plans, and ensure conformity for components and welded assemblies. The role includes supplier and internal process audits, plus driving continuous quality improvements.

You will report to Karin Haglund and may work remotely 1–2 days a week, with travel to supplier and customer sites about 40 days annually.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in quality management, assurance and control in manufacturing.
  • Experience interpreting standards.
  • Full professional proficiency in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.

Responsibilities

  • Perform quality inspections and observations on manufacturing processes, mechanical components and welded assemblies.
  • Review control plans, final control documentation, non-conformance reports and take measures from a quality perspective.
  • Review technical documentation and quality requirements in orders for components and services.
  • Issue Certificate of Conformity (CoC) and audit certificates of mechanical components and installations.
  • Participate in audits of suppliers and internal business processes audits.
  • Support continuous improvement of quality management in projects.
  • Promote quality awareness and provide guidance to projects teams to enhance quality control in project execution.

Senior Quality Engineer – Mechanical Components

Are you an experienced engineer with a background in quality control of mechanical components?

Welcome to QP - Quality Programs and Oversight. We are 15 employees in areas such as project quality and supplier audits. As a member of our team, you will work together with committed colleagues and be a part of an environment that is both challenging and supportive.

About The Role

You will work at our office in Västerås with the possibility of working remotely 1‑2 days a week. The role requires travels to supplier and customer sites approximately 40 days a year.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering; mechanical-, materials- or quality management, or equivalent.
  • 10+ year of experience working with quality management, assurance and control from the manufacturing industry.
  • Experience of interpretation of standards.
  • Full professional proficiency in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
Meritorious
  • Experience from the nuclear industry.
  • Experience working with standards such as ISO 9001, ISO 3834-2, PAKT, KBM, TBM, YVL, KTA 1401 and ASME III.
  • Certificate in Non‑destructive Testing (NDT) and welding management (IW/IWT/IWE).
  • Knowledge of CE marking, pressurized equipment and lifting equipment.
