Job summary

Valmet in Karlstad is seeking a Manager, Tissue Field Service to lead a team of field service engineers, specialists and technicians across Karlstad and key EMEA hubs. You will drive safety, efficiency and service quality while partnering with Sales, Project Management, Performance Centers and Product Organizations to grow the service business.

This leadership role requires an engineering degree or equivalent, international experience, and strong people leadership with fluency in English.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or equivalent technical experience.
• Several years of experience in industrial field services, maintenance, tissue production, project management, or related service operations.
• Proven experience in people leadership, team development, and performance management.
• Fluency in English; opportunities for additional languages.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of Field Service Engineers, Specialists, and Technicians located in Karlstad and other key EMEA service hubs.
• Drive a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with safety standards, policies, and customer site requirements.
• Manage resource planning, workforce allocation, and competence development to ensure efficient execution of field service activities.
• Ensure successful delivery of maintenance services, shutdowns, audits, inspections, troubleshooting, upgrades, commissioning, and technical improvement projects.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, training, and career development of field service personnel.
• Define and monitor team performance through KPIs, utilization, customer satisfaction, profitability, safety, and engagement metrics.
• Collaborate with Sales to identify service opportunities and contribute to business growth targets.
• Support quotation activities with technical expertise and execution strategies for service projects.
• Coordinate between Field Services, Project Teams, Performance Centers, Engineering, and Product Organizations.
• Drive standardization and continuous improvement of service processes, methods, tools, and best practices.
• Act as escalation point for critical customer issues and ensure timely resolution.
• Foster collaboration, accountability, innovation, and customer focus across the organization.
• Support strategic initiatives related to service growth, digitalization, and operational excellence.
