Job description

LumenRadio is a high‑tech company with the vision of replacing all cables in the world. We have been leading the wireless transformation within the lighting industry since 2008, where our technology is being used every day in the largest TV and Movie productions in Hollywood, at the Coachella festival, and the Eurovision Song Contest. Our patented technologies deliver unprecedented reliability for the most business‑critical applications, and our products are now also used in permanent indoor and outdoor lighting installations, as well as in building automation systems.

Replacing cables in lighting control systems with wireless communication makes installations easier, more flexible and more cost‑efficient. With rising demands for energy efficiency, wireless lighting control has become a key enabler, making intelligent control possible even where traditional cabling is not.

In our General Lighting team, we work with W‑DALI and AirGlow to bring reliable wireless lighting control to real‑world environments, using existing DALI systems and without the need for cabling. You will be part of our R&D organization, where we continuously develop and refine wireless communication technology, and are currently focused on building the next‑generation platform that enables even higher performance in our wireless solutions.

Your future

We are looking for our next Embedded Software Developer to join our product development team within General Lighting. In this role, you will play an important role in new development projects as well as maintenance assignments on system level, e.g. drawing up requirement specifications, pre‑studies, proposals, system design, system testing (QA) and acceptance testing. You will also plan and execute product/project plans and drive process improvements.

An important part of our approach to product development is having a deep understanding of our customers' challenges and closely understanding the environment in which our products are used. As a developer in the team, we expect you to be driven by a desire to understand the industry and participate in technical customer dialogues and support cases when needed. You will balance a deep technical interest and knowledge with the willingness to learn about domain specific requirements, standards, certifications etc.

As part of maintaining a close dialogue with our customers and partners, we expect you to participate in trade shows and engineering meet‑ups around the world approximately 2‑3 times per year.

About You
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
  • Experience in delivering high‑quality embedded C firmware
  • Experience with Python, e.g. for testing purposes
  • Experience in CI/CD and measuring electronics
  • A genuine passion for technology, demonstrated by curiosity and a desire to stay informed about industry trends
  • Fluency in English, written and spoken

While it's beneficial to have prior knowledge, it's not essential as you'll have the opportunity to learn about the following topics:

  • Networking (IPv6, OSI model etc.)
  • Wireless networking (Bluetooth/BLE, Zigbee, WiFi, LoRa, Thread, 6LoWPAN, NB‑IoT, 5G etc.)
  • Different lighting‑ and industry protocols, such as DALI, KNX, BACnet, Modbus, etc.
Our tech stack
  • Whatever OS and editor that make you productive
  • Arm‑gcc, Git, GNU Make

We are looking for people who share our values – Reliability, Innovation, Simplicity and Energy.
