Job summary

Haldex AB is looking for a Design Engineer in Landskrona. You will work on air disc brakes, automatic brake adjusters, and valves as part of the R&D team. The role involves developing new products, creating technical specifications, and supporting product development from conception to manufacture.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, CAD experience (preferably CREO), and a background in the automotive industry. Fluent English is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Documented skill in a CAD system, preferably CREO.
• Experience in the automotive industry; Heavy Truck/Bus experience is meritorious.

About the role

Design Engineer in Landskrona working on air disc brakes, automatic brake adjusters, valves, and actuators. Project-oriented and cross-functional, part of R&D team with global stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Develop new products and design solutions to meet specifications.
• Evaluate design solutions related to supplier process and internal assembly with focus on total cost.
• Support product development from conception through to manufacture and maintenance.
• Participate in technical discussions with suppliers and customers.
• Create internal technical requirement specifications.
• Support development of new test methods for design elements/sub-systems.
• Improve and develop current products.
• Understand and work according to Haldex Change Management Process for changes.
• Review customer product requirements.
• Create and update technical specifications (drawings, models, calculations, etc.).
• Analyze results from calculations and performed tests.
• Take actions when faults are discovered on product and in process.
• Support quality-related activities including root cause analysis (e.g., 8D method).

Education and Experiences

• Minimum Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Material knowledge and knowledge of manufacturing methods.
• Documented skill in a CAD system, preferably CREO.
• Knowledge in PDM system and base knowledge in MathCAD.
• Tolerance analysis using software or other methodology.
• Base knowledge in Finite Element Analysis program, preferably ANSYS Workbench.
• Good knowledge in Office software applications.
• Fluent in English, verbally and in writing.
• Experience in automotive industry; Heavy Truck/Bus experience is meritorious.
