Job summary

Solaris is seeking an experienced Credit Underwriter to lead manual underwriting operations, refine credit transaction structures, and ensure compliance with internal and regulatory standards. You will support automatic underwriting criteria, drive portfolio reviews, and contribute to strategic projects within a dynamic risk team.

Qualifications

• A university degree, ideally with a focus on economics, business administration, banking or a comparable qualification.
• 3+ years of relevant work experience in credit risk management in a bank or financial institution.
• Experience of financial products with respect to credit loans, process setup and loan documentation processes, credit risk management and/or credit structuring.
• Experience in regulatory requirements for the respective focus area.
• It would be a great advantage if you gained experience in advanced Excel, Python, Tableau and/or HTML.
• You are fluent in English to engage with all international team members within the company. German communication skills are a strong advantage.

Responsibilities

• Define and refine the structure of complex credit transactions.
• Assess and approve credit transactions, ensuring compliance with OHB and external regulations.
• Maintain and optimize the credit approval process for efficiency and accuracy.
• Establish and maintain manual credit file management systems.
• Regularly review and update credit files to reflect risk profiles.
• Assist in setting and refining criteria for the Decision Engine (Automation).
• Align underwriting principles across manual and automated channels.
• Prepare regular qualitative credit portfolio reviews with action proposals.
• Execute ad-hoc assessments to mitigate emerging risks.
• Monitor dunning, workout, and collection activities to stay within risk standards.
• Close audit findings and lead training on underwriting principles.
• Drive project tasks including new loan product development.
