Job summary

Qliro is seeking a senior leader to own credit analytics and the entire credit life cycle from underwriting strategy to portfolio monitoring and loss forecasting. You will lead a small team of two analysts and ensure decisions are grounded in data to balance risk and profitability.

You will collaborate with data scientists and engineers on models and decision rules, stay ahead of regulatory changes, and partner with merchants on credit performance. Strong communication to executives is essential.

Qualifications

• Owned or major part in credit decisions in consumer lending or BNPL.
• Knowledge of the credit life cycle: underwriting, limit setting, monitoring.
• Experience with ECL modelling and provisioning.
• Forecast credit losses and explain forecast vs outcome.
• Adapt underwriting to new regulation and translate into rules.
• Understand analyses and models well enough to review them, not code.
• Experience with data scientists on scorecards or credit models.
• Explain trade-offs clearly to non-credit specialists including senior leaders.
• Leadership or coaching experience in a team.

Responsibilities

• Set and develop credit strategy: who we approve, limits, terms, and how it evolves with portfolio and market changes.
• Understand drivers of risk and profitability and explain impact of changes to management.
• Own the ECL model and provisioning methodology; manage assumptions and recalibration.
• Forecast losses and explain movement with strategy, macro conditions and portfolio mix.
• Monitor portfolio performance and identify deterioration signals across segments and markets.
• Follow and implement changes in regulation; ensure underwriting framework adapts.
• Decide how rules and models are tested and rolled out; assess delivery against expectations.
• Work with data scientists and engineers on models and decision rules; assess suitability.
• Collaborate with merchant partners on credit performance and customer base effects.
• Work with Risk, Finance and Compliance on risk appetite and reporting.
• Lead and develop two credit analysts; set priorities and support growth.
