St1 Biokraft AB in Sweden seeks a Contract Manager / Project Procurement Manager to lead procurement and contract management for growth projects, from development through handover to operations. You will own project contracts, lead tendering and negotiations, manage changes and claims, and ensure delivery to quality, schedule and cost, working closely with engineering and site teams.
This role requires experience in capital-intensive projects, strong English communication, and willingness to
St1 Biokraft is a joint venture between St1 and HitecVision, combining expertise and resources to drive innovation in the biomethane sector. Our goal is to become the leading integrated biomethane provider in the Nordics, playing a vital role in the energy transition. We cover the entire value chain, from feedstock sourcing to distribution and end-user sales, with a strong emphasis on heavy transport, maritime, and industrial sectors.
To support this ambitious growth, we are investing over EUR 1 billion in biomethane production and distribution infrastructure across the Nordics, with several large-scale projects already in progress.
Take commercial ownership of the contracts that turn our biomethane ambitions into operating plants. A partnership driving the energy transition
We are now looking for a Contract Manager / Project Procurement Manager to take responsibility for procurement and contract management in our growth projects - from early development and contracting strategy through construction, final settlement and handover to operations.
In this role, you will own project contracts commercially, ensuring we select the right partners, agree clear responsibilities, and secure delivery to the required quality, schedule, and cost.
Your involvement starts before contracts are signed. Working closely with engineering and project management, you will help determine how each project should be packaged and contracted, then lead tendering, evaluation and negotiations.
During execution, you will stay close to both suppliers and the project team. You will manage changes and claims, follow up on contractual commitments, and ensure agreements translate into on-site delivery.
The role combines commercial judgement, technical understanding and practical problem-solving. You should be equally comfortable leading negotiations and working through delivery issues with colleagues in the site office.
You will:
You have a proven track record in procuring and managing substantial contracts for capital-intensive projects. Your experience extends into execution, where you have dealt directly with changes, claims, payment milestones and final settlements.
Your background may be with an asset owner, an EPC supplier or a contractor. What matters is your ability to take ownership of the contracts and understand how commercial decisions affect project delivery.
We are looking for:
Experience in biogas or other process industries, international projects, and developing ways of working in a growing organisation would be valuable. A relevant qualification in engineering, business or law is an advantage.
You are structured, persistent and commercially astute. You keep track of the details while understanding which issues have the greatest impact on the project.
You can challenge a supplier, hold a clear position and still maintain a constructive working relationship. You communicate early, bring the right people into the discussion and follow issues through to resolution.
You also enjoy building effective ways of working. As our project portfolio grows, you will help establish routines that give teams clarity and support sound decisions.
Our culture connects a shared ambition with collective responsibility for results:
You will have a direct influence on how our plants are procured, built and handed over to operations. Your work will shape project outcomes, from the quality of our supplier agreements to resolving issues during construction.
You will join a growing organisation where you can contribute your experience, improve processes, and work closely with colleagues across technical and commercial disciplines.
This is an opportunity to follow major investments from early decisions to operating assets - and see the tangible results of your work in the energy transition.
The role is based in Malmö or Stockholm and reports to the Head of Procurement. Travel to project sites is part of the role.
