Job summary

Actalent is seeking a PLC Commissioning Engineer to join its engineering team on large-scale warehousing, distribution, and material handling projects. You will commission automated systems from installation through to handover, diagnosing faults and optimising control systems.

You will collaborate with engineering, software and project teams to deliver safe, efficient, and reliable solutions with a focus on continuous improvement across projects.

Qualifications

• Proven PLC commissioning experience within automation environments.
• Strong Siemens TIA Portal knowledge.
• Experience with Profinet, Profibus, AS-i, and industrial networking.
• Knowledge of servo drives, inverters, and motion control systems.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Experience within warehouse automation, intralogistics, or material handling systems is advantageous.

Job description

A leading automation and intralogistics organisation is seeking a PLC Commissioning Engineer to join its engineering team. This role offers the opportunity to work on large-scale automated warehousing, distribution, and material handling projects, supporting the delivery of complex control systems from installation through to commissioning and handover.

You will work closely with engineering, software, and project teams to commission automated systems, troubleshoot technical issues, and ensure solutions are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.

The Role:

This position will focus on PLC programming, system commissioning, fault diagnosis, and control system optimisation. You will play a key role in ensuring automated systems perform reliably while supporting continuous improvement initiatives across projects.
