We are looking for an experienced Senior Automation Engineer to join a growing engineering organisation delivering a variety of industrial automation projects.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced automation professional who enjoys taking ownership of projects, solving complex technical challenges and working across the full project lifecycle — from initial concept and system design through to programming, testing and commissioning.

The Role

As a Senior Automation Engineer, you will work across a range of small and large-scale industrial automation projects.

You will collaborate closely with customers, project managers, electrical engineers and other technical specialists, taking projects from initial concept through to successful commissioning.

As a senior member of the engineering team, you will also have the opportunity to provide technical guidance and mentorship to more junior engineers.

Key Responsibilities

• Programming and development of PLC, HMI and SCADA systems
• Working with automation platforms including Siemens, Beckhoff, Rockwell and Ignition, or similar technologies
• Strong involvement with Siemens automation systems, which are currently the primary platform used
• Contributing to and taking ownership of system design and functional specifications
• Supporting automation projects throughout the full engineering lifecycle
• Testing and commissioning automation systems
• Carrying out commissioning activities both internally and at customer sites
• Troubleshooting automation and control system issues
• Identifying and implementing system improvements
• Providing ongoing technical support
• Collaborating with project managers, electrical designers and other engineering disciplines
• Providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers

Experience & Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a strong technical background in industrial automation who is comfortable taking ownership of technical challenges and projects.

Ideally, you will have:

• Several years of professional experience within industrial automation
• Strong experience with PLC and HMI programming
• Experience working with SCADA systems
• Experience with Siemens automation technology is particularly desirable
• Knowledge of platforms such as Beckhoff, Rockwell or Ignition would also be beneficial
• A relevant qualification in Automation, Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
• The ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively within multidisciplinary engineering teams
• Good communication skills in Swedish and English
• A valid Category B driving licence

Experience in any of the following would be advantageous:

• Process industry environments
• Machine control and machine automation
• Basic knowledge of EPLAN
• Industrial commissioning and customer-site project work
