Location: Stockholm area, Sweden (hybrid/flexible) | Full-time
We are looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to drive commercial growth in the synthetic DNA and oligonucleotide reagent space. This is a high-impact, client-facing role suited to someone who thrives at the intersection of science and sales, comfortable discussing molecular biology applications with R&D scientists one day and negotiating supply agreements with procurement teams the next.
You’ll be responsible for expanding our footprint among biotech, pharma, diagnostics, and life sciences tool companies, particularly across the US and European markets, as demand grows for high-quality linear and circular single-stranded DNA (ssDNA) used in gene editing, cell therapy, diagnostics, and synthetic biology applications.
Track record of building pipeline and closing deals in a scientific/technical B2B environment.
Strong negotiation skills, including experience with MTAs, supply agreements, or long-term commercial contracts.
Excellent communication skills in English; additional languages a plus.
Willingness to travel internationally (conferences, client visits, primarily US and Europe).
Self-starter mentality suited to a fast-growing, entrepreneurial company environment.
Bachelor’s degree in a life sciences discipline required; advanced degree (MSc/PhD) or MBA a plus but not required.
This is an opportunity to join a growing company at the forefront of ssDNA and oligonucleotide manufacturing, playing a direct role in shaping our commercial strategy as we scale internationally. You’ll work closely with a lean, technically strong leadership team and have real ownership over how we grow our client base.
Identify, prioritize, and develop new business opportunities among biotech, pharma, CDMO/CRO, and diagnostics companies.
Build and manage a pipeline of prospective clients from lead generation through contract negotiation and close.
Represent the company at industry conferences, trade shows, and scientific meetings (e.g., ASGCT, ESGCT, SynBioBeta, TIDES, CRISPRMED).
Develop and maintain relationships with key accounts, including R&D, procurement, and supply chain stakeholders.
Collaborate closely with process development, technical/scientific teams, and leadership to align commercial strategy with manufacturing capacity and technical capabilities.
Negotiate commercial terms, pricing structures, and Material Transfer Agreements (MTAs) or supply agreements in partnership with legal and technical teams.
Track and report on market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs across the long ssDNA, oligonucleotide, and broader nucleic acid manufacturing landscape.
Support development of marketing materials, pitch decks, and investor-facing commercial narratives as needed.
Meet or exceed revenue and pipeline growth targets.
5+ years of business development, sales, or commercial experience in life sciences, ideally within CDMO/CRO, synthetic biology, genomics, or nucleic acid manufacturing.
Existing network of contacts among biotech, pharma, or diagnostics companies is a strong plus.
Solid scientific literacy: comfortable discussing molecular biology, gene editing (CRISPR), cell and gene therapy, or synthetic biology applications with technical stakeholders.
