Job summary

Cota Robotics is seeking a robotics-focused engineer to build and deploy manipulation and navigation policies on real robots operating in live stores. You will balance learned control with classical planning and perception, choosing the right approach for each problem and owning outcomes from observation to shipped behavior.

The role requires comfort with fast-paced environments and the ability to operate with chaos while delivering robust autonomous behavior in retail settings.

• Clear on tradeoffs between classical and learned approaches.
• Fast learner who can define the problem before solving.
• Comfortable with chaos and speed.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deploy manipulation and navigation policies on real robots in real stores.
• Work with VLAs and modern learned control alongside classical planning, perception, and control.
• Decide which approach fits which problem, and be right about it often enough.
• Own problems from store observation to shipped behavior.
