Job summary

TitanX Engine Cooling in Sweden is seeking an Application Engineer to lead the technical development of customer projects from concept to series production. You will translate customer requirements into technical solutions, balancing performance, cost, quality, and manufacturability, while collaborating with Production, Project Management, and global specialist teams.

Based in Mjällby, you will report to the Application Engineering Director and contribute to product improvements while ensuring

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 3 years of product development experience.
• Solid understanding of engineering design and development processes.
• Experience with CAD and 3D modelling, preferably CATIA V5.
• Knowledge of engineering drawings and GD&T.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent English communication, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Drive technical development from concept to series production for one or several projects.
• Create and manage technical documentation including CAD 3D/2D, BOM, DVP&R, DFMEA.
• Perform thermal performance calculations for product definition and validation.
• Work with global CAE teams to define and coordinate analysis needs.
• Coordinate engineering changes across functions through Engineering Change Management.
• Collaborate with customers and internal stakeholders to meet technical, quality, cost, and manufacturing requirements.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of products already in series production.

About the role

As an Application Engineer, you will drive the technical development of customer application projects, from concept to series production, with responsibility for functionality and product quality.

You will work closely with customers to translate their requirements into technical solutions, balancing performance, cost, quality, and manufacturability. You will collaborate across functions with Production, Project Management, and global specialist teams.

The role also includes product improvements for components already in series production, with a focus on quality and cost.

Based in Mjällby, Sweden, you will be part of the R&D organization and report to the Application Engineering Director.

Your responsibilities

As an Application Engineer, you will:

• Drive technical development, including design and validation, for one or several projects from concept to series production.
• Create and manage technical documentation, including CAD 3D/2D, BOM, DVP&R, DFMEA, and related documentation.
• Perform thermal performance calculations for product definition and validation.
• Work with global CAE teams to define and coordinate analysis and simulation needs.
• Coordinate engineering changes across functions through Engineering Change Management.
• Collaborate with customers and internal stakeholders to ensure solutions meet technical, quality, cost, and manufacturing requirements.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of products already in series production.

Your profile

We're looking for a proactive and solution-oriented engineer who enjoys taking ownership and driving technical development forward.

To succeed in this role, you have:

• A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
• Preferably at least 3 years of experience in product development.
• Solid understanding of engineering design and product development processes.
• Experience with CAD and 3D modelling, preferably CATIA V5 or similar.
• Knowledge of engineering drawings and GD&T.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken.

You are structured, communicative, and comfortable making decisions based on data and engineering judgment. You enjoy working cross-functionally and are able to make progress even when not all information is available from the outset.

Considered as a plus

• Knowledge of heat transfer, structural analysis, or vibration.
• Experience with CFD/FEA or other simulation-driven development.
• Experience working in global development teams.
• Experience from the automotive industry, preferably within heavy-duty applications.
