Job summary

Viaplay Group in Stockholm is seeking an experienced Android Developer to help build and evolve our Android platform for ads monetisation across mobile video and streaming products.

You will design, implement, and maintain features, improve performance, collaborate with backend, product, design, and analytics teams, and contribute to reliable ad experiences across live, linear, and on-demand content.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, with a strong focus on building and scaling Android applications.
• Experience developing customer-focused products for mobile platforms.
• Strong expertise in Kotlin and Java, or modern Android frameworks.
• Good understanding of architecture, performance optimisation, testing, debugging, and maintainable code design.
• Experience with video playback, streaming, or media apps is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain features on our platform, related to ads monetisation in a modern mobile app.
• Work with tracking and measurement of ads, and ad decisioning integrations.
• Contribute to smooth, reliable ad experiences across live, linear, and on-demand streaming use cases.
• Collaborate with backend and platform teams on integrations involving client-side and server-side ad insertion workflows.
• Improve app performance, stability, observability, and user experience around ad playback.
• Participate in technical discovery, architecture discussions, code reviews, testing, and release activities.
• Help troubleshoot complex production issues related to playback, ads, analytics, and device-specific behaviour.
