Job summary

Ericsson in Sweden is establishing an AI-driven Digital ASIC research activity within Ericsson Research. This role contributes to the creation of a methodology that guides AI-enabled silicon design, across architecture, RTL, verification, and physical design.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated depth in at least one primary expert area with working competence in adjacent areas, evidenced through tape-outs, publications, or collaborations.
  • Experience across multiple FPGA/ASIC design stages and open-source contributions or academic roles is valued.
  • Willingness to work across architecture, RTL, verification, physical design, test and packaging; strong async collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Drive AI-driven methodology research deliverables: define AI-driven design flow, quantify PPA/lead-time deltas vs traditional baselines.
  • Apply your expert areas within research threads, contributing depth and tooling perspectives to the design chain.
  • Contribute to the traditional baseline in your areas to ensure verifiable performance claims.
  • Co-design across architecture, RTL, verification, physical design, test and packaging; engage across sites.
  • Engage with Ericsson product teams, tool vendors and external partners as needed.
  • Maintain cross-site presence (Lund / Lindholmen) and contribute to team culture.
  • Work on 2–3 active research threads and rotate on delivery lead responsibilities.
