• This role is responsible for individually developing and leading specialist work, as well as being the lead specialist for certain Capability activities, process and governance.
• The individual will be responsible for the continued implementation and development of the BAE Systems training portfolio, Business Development processes, tools and assessment and ensures the smooth running of the Business Development Capability within their local business area – working within BAESSA and with the KPCs.
• The individual will develop, maintain, and implement appropriate functional governance policies & processes under the direction of the Head of BD Operations & Functional Governance.
• Support the delivery of effective Business Development functional governance across activities inside BAE Systems Saudi Arabia and its KPCs.
• Produce and deliver periodical business analysis reports and key presentations providing;
• Concise data on an on-going material issues to the business, market intelligence analysis ensuring output is accurate and to a high standard.

• Responsible for the Business Development people capability, processes and tools within their local business area
• Supports and influences the delivery and continuous improvement of Business Development training and development across the local business area
• Responsible for supporting and influencing much of the Business Development Excellence activity across the business, specifically within their local business area
• Responsible for some of the specific activities undertaken by the Business Development team for which they are responsible
• Supports the efforts to develop and maintain a cross functional training and assessment portfolio
• Manages and promotes Business Development Tools
• Responsible for supporting the measuring of customer relationships for the business
• Supports the maintenance the Businesses Business Development Framework, Policies and Procedures
• Helps to develop the Business Development Toolkit
• Responsible for influencing assessments on BD Capability within their local business area
• Supports discussions with Finance, Commercial, Project Management and other functions (where applicable) to ensure Business Development data is current, captured & interfaced to other tools and processes
• Leads specific areas of the Business Development improvement activity for their specific area and/or geography
• Promotes sharing of best practice with the wider BAE Systems Business Development community and continuous development of different communities of practice
• Helps to manages people development and organisational/infrastructure of their BD Capability team
• Influences the departmental budget
• Supports BD forums and Business Development Community of Practice forums

• Experience of understanding business requirements.
• Translating into appropriate solutions and delivering within budget/timescales.
• Experience of operating within a customer environment
• Qualified to Degree standard or equivalent
• Good and practical Business Development experience & a deep understanding of business Development behaviours, processes, procedures and industry best practice.
• Significant experience of engaging senior stakeholders, particularly customers, and the ability to build mutually beneficial relationships
• Takes ownership for own tasks
• Works on own initiative with responsibility for delivery
• Understands own role, and how they sit in organisation
• Can apply capability best practice to any area of the business
• Developed a significant knowledge of capability management solutions in the context of the business
