Job summary

A leading technology firm in Riyadh seeks an Infrastructure Automation Engineer to develop reusable templates and manage cloud infrastructures. The ideal candidate possesses advanced knowledge of Terraform and Ansible, experience with CI/CD, and a strong background in containerization and VMware tools. This role requires at least 5 years of experience and certifications in relevant technologies.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in infrastructure automation on VMware Private Cloud.
• Proven experience in deploying IaC at scale with Terraform.
• Strong experience with configuration management using Ansible.

” The Job Description”

1. Infrastructure Automation & Orchestration: Develop and maintain reusable and scalable IaC templates using tools like Terraform, Ansible, and Cloud Formation.
2. Automate provisioning, configuration, and management of cloud infrastructure across public, private, and hybrid cloud environments.
3. Implement and manage infrastructure automation solutions by leveraging VMware tools and the Aria stack.
4. Enable policy-as-code practices to ensure compliance and governance across automated deployments.
5. Manage OpenShift clusters to support containerized application environments.
6. Design and manage CI/CD pipelines for automating the build, test, and deployment of infrastructure and application code.
7. Integrate automated testing and quality gates to ensure reliability and performance of deployments.
8. Collaborate with DevOps and development teams to streamline the software delivery lifecycle.
9. Work with platforms such as VMware, OCI and Google Cloud to deploy and optimize cloud infrastructure.
10. Use IaC tools to support multi-cloud and hybrid cloud strategies.
11. Enable cloud-native architecture and containerized environments using Kubernetes and Docker.
12. Utilize VMware automation tools to enhance operational efficiency and deliver self-service capabilities.
13. Monitor infrastructure performance and implement auto-scaling and self-healing mechanisms.
14. Identify and automate repetitive operational tasks to enhance efficiency and reduce downtime.
15. Troubleshoot infrastructure issues and ensure high availability and disaster recovery readiness.
16. Collaborate with development, operations, and security teams to align infrastructure automation with business goals.
17. Maintain clear and detailed documentation of automation scripts, pipelines, and architecture.
18. Provide training and mentorship to team members on IaC tools and best practices.

Requirements

• Advanced knowledge of Ansible, Terraform for IaC implementation.
• Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or GitHub Actions.
• Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Experience with VMware automation platforms and the Aria stack to support cloud and virtualization initiatives.
• Experience working with Nutanix environments (AHV, Prism, Calm) for infrastructure automation.
• Familiarity with version control systems like Git and GitOps workflows.
• Solid understanding and Administration of containerization tools like Docker and orchestration platforms such as Red Hat OpenShift.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with a proactive mindset.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in infrastructure automation on VMware Private Cloud Stack, Cloud Engineering, or DevOps roles.
• Proven experience in deploying and managing IaC at scale with Terraform and Configuration Management using Ansible.

Certifications

1. Certifications in Terraform (HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate), or Kubernetes (CKA/CKAD/OpenShift Specialist Ex280)
