Job summary

BAE Systems is seeking a Typhoon Pilot to support the maintenance and training of the Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) personnel. The role involves advising on Typhoon aircraft, conducting training, and performing daily squadron duties.

Job Purpose

BAE Systems, acting as the UK Government’s nominated Prime Contractor under the Government‑to‑Government arrangements, provides equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia. The role supports the maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and the training of RSAF and Royal Saudi Naval Force personnel in a safe training environment. This role reports to the Head of Flying Typhoon and assists the RSAF squadron commander on all matters concerning Typhoon aircraft operation, continuation training, and conversion training of RSAF aircrew.

Job Accountabilities

• Assist and advise RSAF squadron commander on all matters concerning Typhoon aircraft.
• Assist and advise RSAF squadron commander on pilot training matters.
• Perform daily squadron duties, including flying, ground instruction and supervisory duties as directed.
• Carry out general staff work, projects, course development and other related tasks as requested.
• Conduct transition, continuation and recurrency training, ground school lectures, briefings and de‑briefings based on operational requirements.
• Complete accurate, detailed reports and assessments of pilots under instruction.
• Assist squadron commander with preparation of training/activity documents and specialist papers as requested.

Recruitment Specification

• Minimum of 1500 hours flying experience on fast‑jet aircraft.
• Extensive proven previous instructional experience.
• Completed at least one tour at the Typhoon Operational Conversion Unit or equivalent (C to I Typhoon covering IPUG).
• Responsible to Flying Wing Commander for flying instructional missions for cadets according to RSAF training syllabi.
• Good people‑development competencies, high interpersonal skills, ability to communicate, influence and direct Saudi cadets both in air and on ground.
