Job summary

Novartis is seeking a Therapy Area Medical Head to lead the medical strategy and execution for a therapeutic franchise in Saudi Arabia. You will align global and regional plans, drive launch readiness and lifecycle management, and oversee the Therapy Area Medical team including MSLs, ensuring scientific credibility and cross-functional alignment with commercial and regulatory functions.

Qualifications

• MD/MBBS/PharmD/PhD in Lifesciences required.
• MBA is a plus.
• 10+ years experience in Medical Affairs in pharmaceutical industry.
• Experience with specialty products.
• Experience in Saudi Arabian healthcare landscape.
• Significant leadership experience and ability to manage diverse teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the medical strategy and execution for the franchise, ensuring scientific excellence and alignment with global and local objectives.
• Build and mentor the Therapy Area Medical team (MSLs, etc.) and represent Medical Affairs in Franchise leadership.
• Ensure compliance with pharmacovigilance and regulatory standards and oversee medical information and evidence generation.
• Provide medical insights to shape clinical practice and healthcare policy, supporting trials and patient access.

The Therapy Area Medical Head leads the medical strategy and execution for a therapeutic franchise ensuring scientific excellence strong stakeholder engagement and alignment with global and local business objectives The role also leads the Franchise Medical team and represents Medical Affairs in the franchise leadership structure Develop and execute the Therapy Area Medical Strategy aligned with global and regional strategy including integrated planning for launch readiness lifecycle management and patient accessTranslate strategy into an operational medical plan for the country or cluster Lead and develop the Therapy Area Medical team Medical leads MSLs etc Ensure strong alignment with commercial regulatory and access strategies Maintain high standards of medical and scientific credibility within the organization Oversee medical information evidence generation and scientific exchange with stakeholders Ensure compliance with pharmacovigilance and regulatory standards Provide medical insights to shape clinical practice and healthcare policy Support and oversee Clinical trials Phase I IV Investigator-initiated studies IITs Non-interventional studies NIS

Qualifications
