Job summary

flyadeal seeks an experienced Technical Services CAMO Engineer to lead and coordinate engineering activities, guiding cost-focused improvements in aircraft and engine performance. You will optimize maintenance costs and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements while maintaining reliability.

With 5+ years in airline technical services, you will work with CFM56 and LEAP-1A engines, interfaces with manufacturers, and manage ERP systems such as AMOS.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical Engineering or equivalent; master’s in finance or MBA preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as Technical Services Engineer in an airline.
  • Experience with CFM56 and LEAP-1A engines, on/off-wing management.
  • Strong understanding of maintenance costs, lifecycle costing, and financial management principles.
  • Proficiency with aviation ERP systems, especially AMOS.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with stakeholders.

  • Review technical data to ensure compliance, performance improvements, and cost efficiency.
  • Liaise with manufacturers, translate bulletins into internal docs (Engineering Orders, SWIs).
  • Evaluate modifications, repairs, and tooling requirements.
  • Review and update technical documents (modifications, notices, AMP amendments).
  • Coordinate investigations of incidents/accidents and follow up actions.
  • Support local modifications, maintenance schedule amendments, and concessions.
  • Assist in material management (Airbus FHS, shop visit reports).
  • Track and manage maintenance and engineering costs; develop financial reports.

Description

Manage and coordinate engineering activities within the CAMO department, providing technical guidance to enhance aircraft and engine performance and reliability. This role focuses on optimizing cost-related aspects of maintenance and engineering to ensure the airline operates efficiently and sustainably.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide guidance on maintenance, repair, overhaul, and modification of aircraft and equipment.
  • Monitor defects, delays, and engine removals, investigating and recommending remedial actions.
  • Review technical data from manufacturers and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance, performance improvements, and cost efficiency.
  • Liaise with manufacturers and translate technical bulletins into internal documentation, such as Engineering Orders and Special Work Instructions.
  • Evaluate specifications for modifications and repairs, advising on specialized tools and equipment.
  • Review and update technical documents, including modifications, Technical Notices, and AMP Amendments.
  • Coordinate investigations of incidents and accidents, initiating follow-up actions to address component and system failures.
  • Support local modifications, maintenance schedule amendments, and concessions on aircraft and components.
  • Assist in material management functions, such as Airbus FHS engineering and shop visit reports.
  • Track and manage maintenance and engineering costs, including scheduled and unscheduled activities.
  • Perform detailed cost analyses and develop financial reports to aid decision-making.
  • Maintain accurate cost databases and provide regular cost performance reports.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities within the CAMO department.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical Engineering or equivalent; a master’s degree in finance or business administration is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Technical Services Engineer in an airline environment.
  • Experience with CFM56 and LEAP-1A engines, including on/off-wing management.
  • Preferable experience in low-cost airline operations.
  • Strong understanding of aircraft maintenance costs, lifecycle costing, and financial management principles.
  • Proficiency in aviation ERP systems, especially AMOS.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
