Job summary

TAWANTECH in Riyadh is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to provide technical leadership across development initiatives while remaining an individual contributor. You will define engineering standards, lead design of complex systems, and mentor engineers, ensuring scalable, secure, and compliant solutions in a regulated financial services context.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS or related field; Master’s preferred.
• 5+ years of software engineering with delivery-team leadership.
• Deep backend or frontend expertise with breadth across the stack.
• Experience facilitating Agile delivery within a squad.
• Payments/banking or regulated financial services experience.
• Certifications in Cloud Architecture or Software Architecture preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for a squad while remaining an IC.
• Define technical approaches, engineering standards, and implementation patterns for assigned products.
• Lead technical design and development of complex systems and critical components.
• Facilitate squad ceremonies and own team-level delivery cadence and technical planning.
• Break down features into technical work and support estimation and sequencing with the Product Owner.
• Provide technical guidance to engineers and resolve complex engineering challenges.
• Review solution designs, code, and implementations for quality and architectural alignment.
• Drive engineering best practices for scalability, security, performance, maintainability, and reliability.
• Ensure squad delivery meets change governance, release, and regulatory requirements.
• Evaluate technical options and recommend appropriate technologies, frameworks, and design patterns.
• Identify technical risks, dependencies, and constraints and recommend mitigations.
• Support architecture decisions and ensure consistency across integrated systems.
• Drive resolution of critical production issues requiring advanced engineering expertise.
• Mentor engineers through coaching, knowledge sharing, and code reviews, without direct people-management accountability.
• Collaborate with architecture, product, platform, quality, and engineering stakeholders on delivery.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field; Master’s preferred.


• 5+ years of software engineering experience, including technical leadership of a delivery team.


• Deep expertise across backend or frontend engineering with strong breadth across the stack.


• Proven experience facilitating Agile delivery within a squad.


• Payments, banking, or regulated financial services experience.


• Certifications in Cloud Architecture, Software Architecture, or other relevant professional certifications are preferred.
