Job summary

Hill International in Saudi Arabia seeks an Airport Inspector (Civil/Structural) to monitor construction activities, ensure compliance with drawings, specifications and aviation standards, and uphold safety and quality across airside and landside works. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's in Civil Engineering with at least 8 years on large-scale projects, and experience with supervision of consultants or main contractors.

Excellent communication and documentation skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
• Minimum 8 years on large-scale projects; supervision consultant/main contractor experience essential.
• Experience working internationally (preference GCC).

Responsibilities

• Monitor construction activities to ensure contract compliance and quality.
• Review work pack documentation and validate test data.
• Ensure materials comply with plans and specifications.
• Attend as company representative for discipline witness and test points on Site Construction ITPs.
• Produce formal inspection reports on site and provide data to management.
• Liaise with quality personnel to ensure client representation at hold/witness/test points.
• Provide quality representation at toolbox talks and promote first-time quality.
• Stay aligned with Hill policies and procedures for compliance.

Job Description

An Airport Civil/Structural Inspector monitors construction activities to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and aviation standards.
They conduct site inspections, material checks, and quality tests while identifying defects and ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
The role focuses on maintaining structural integrity, safety, and quality across airside and landside infrastructure works.

Responsibilities

Monitor activities to ensure the work is performed as required by the contract and meets or exceeds the required quality standards.

Conduct regular surveillance of site work against documented processes.

Conduct a review of work pack documentation and validate test data as meeting specified requirements and/or within tolerance.

Ensuring incorporated materials on projects comply with the plans and specifications.

Attend as the Company-nominated representative for discipline witness and monitor intervention points on Site Construction ITPs

Produce formal reports of inspection carried out on the site.

Monitor contractor works and provide data/reports/inputs to management as required.

Liaise with the company and contractor quality personnel to ensure that the requirements for client representation at hold, witness, and test points are understood.

Provide quality representation at toolbox talks and promote the right first-time approach

Informs themselves of the relevant Quality, Environmental, Safety, and Occupational Health Policies, Manuals, and Procedures within Hill International and ensures continued compliance with these requirements while employed by Hill.

Perform other duties as assigned by the line manager/supervisor.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.

Minimum 8 years of work experience on large-scale projects, Supervision consultant/Main contractor experience is essential.

Computer literate, as will be required to use e-mail, Excel & Word to compile, produce, monitor, and interpret operational data and reports.

Good communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Possess the ability to supervise effectively, prioritize, and coordinate multiple tasks, ensuring they are completed promptly.

Must demonstrate a flexible approach to operational requirements to meet business objectives.

Must demonstrate a flexible and innovative approach to problem-solving.

Experience of working internationally (preference for GCC experience).
