Job summary

Hill International is seeking skilled Airport Architects for Middle East projects. You will develop innovative, functional designs for large-scale aviation facilities and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to meet regulatory and operational requirements.

The role emphasizes reviewing designs, performing constructability checks, and participating in technical meetings with consultants, contractors, and clients to ensure project success.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in architecture from an accredited university.
  • 10–15 years’ experience in architectural design, production techniques, codes, standards, and construction methods.
  • Knowledge of engineering design principles and regulatory standards for architecture.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Familiarity with CAD tools for 2D/3D design.

Responsibilities

  • Review architectural drawings, reports and specifications for completeness and compliance.
  • Perform constructability reviews during design and modification stages.
  • Attend technical meetings with Design Consultants, contractors and client teams.
  • Coordinate with document control and QA/QC managers to ensure proper documentation control.
  • Evaluate design alternatives and propose actionable recommendations.

Talent Pool - Airport Architect - Middle East Projects
Job Description

Talent Pool – Airport Architect roles for Middle East projects focus on developing innovative, functional, and sustainable design solutions for complex aviation facilities. Candidates are responsible for architectural design, coordination with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and operational requirements. This talent pool targets creative professionals with experience in delivering large-scale airport or infrastructure projects across the region.

Responsibilities

Review the Architectural drawings, reports, and specifications submitted by the Design Consultant(s) at each stage of the Design to ensure completeness, correctness, and compliance with the scope of work and agreement requirements.

Carry out a constructability review during the Design and Modification stages.

Review promptly, the Design Consultant(s)' submittals and forward comments to the Construction Manager.

Ensure the Design Consultant(s) incorporate the comments raised from previous stages.

Attend Technical meetings with the Design Consultant(s) and other Sub- Consultants, Contractors, and Client's Team.

Review Contractor/Consultant's proposed design organizations and related CVs and report to the Construction Manager on their findings.

Coordinate with the PM's Document Controller and the PM QA/QC Manager to ensure that all documents related to his discipline are properly controlled.

Review any alternative to the Design concept submitted by the Design Consultant(s), prepare and submit a report including a recommendation to the Construction Manager, highlighting the advantages and disadvantages of each alternative.

Review the materials proposed by the Design Consultant(s) and propose alternatives to improve the quality, future maintenance, safety, and cost-effectiveness.

Review the change requests /variations submitted by the Design Consultant(s).

Informs themselves of the relevant Quality, Environmental, Safety, and Occupational Health Policies, Manuals, and Procedures within Hill International and ensures continued compliance with these requirements while employed by Hill.

Perform other duties as assigned by the line manager/supervisor.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in architecture from an accredited university

Minimum of 10-15 years’ experience with architectural design, production techniques, codes, standards, building materials, and construction methods.

Previous experience in the field of specialization and knowledge of relevant engineering design principles, practices, methods, and systems. Knowledge of the construction field, regulatory standards, and design standards relevant to architectural work.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Knowledge of engineering procedures, design guidelines, business automation applications, and administrative aspects.

Familiarity with the applications and tools of designing projects with the help of computer software (CAD) in second and three-dimensional technology.

Experience of working internationally (preference for GCC experience).
