Job summary

Client of imploy is seeking an experienced Systems Administrator Manager Advisor in Riyadh. You will lead day-to-day operations, guide architectural direction, and mentor junior staff while ensuring reliability, security, and scalability of servers, cloud services, and key apps.

The role combines hands-on technical work with strategic influence, requiring strong Linux/Windows expertise, cloud experience, and effective communication in a multinational team setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
• 8+ years in system administration with at least 2 in a managerial/advisory role
• Deep expertise in Windows Server (2016/2019/2022) and AD, DNS, DHCP, GPO
• Strong hands-on Linux experience (RHEL/Ubuntu/CentOS)
• Cloud infra experience (AWS or Azure) including EC2/S3/VPC/IAM
• Virtualization know-how (VMware vSphere/Hyper-V)
• Networking knowledge (TCP/IP, VPN, VLANs, routing, load balancers)
• Backup/DR experience (Veeam/Commvault)
• Scripting (PowerShell/Bash)
• English strong; Arabic a plus
• Certs (MCSE, RHCE, AWS)**, ITIL
• Docker/Kubernetes or hybrid cloud experience
• Saudi Arabia/GCC experience advantageous

About the Role We are seeking an experienced and strategic Systems Administrator to join our growing IT team in Riyadh As a Manager Advisor you will not only manage day-to-day system operations but also provide high-level technical guidance architectural oversight and mentorship to junior staff You will be responsible for ensuring the reliability security and scalability of our server infrastructure cloud environments and critical business applications This is a hands-on leadership role designed for a professional who thrives on solving complex problems while aligning IT infrastructure with organizational goals

Key Responsibilities

• Infrastructure Management Administer configure and maintain Windows and Linux servers virtualization platforms e g VMware Hyper-V and cloud services AWS Azure or GCP
• System Reliability amp Performance Monitor system health proactively identify bottlenecks and implement performance tuning and capacity planning strategies
• Security amp Compliance Design and enforce security policies manage firewalls patch management and perform regular vulnerability assessments Ensure compliance with industry standards ISO 27001 NCA etc
• Backup amp Disaster Recovery Oversee backup systems develop and test DR plans and ensure data integrity and business continuity
• Automation amp Scripting Leverage PowerShell Bash or Python to automate routine tasks streamline provisioning and improve operational efficiency
• Technical Leadership Serve as the escalation point for complex technical issues provide expert advice to stakeholders and lead infrastructure projects from design to deployment
• Team Mentorship Guide and train junior administrators review their work and foster a culture of continuous learning
• Documentation amp Reporting Maintain comprehensive technical documentation system diagrams and produce regular performance and incident reports for senior management

Qualifications & Requirements

Essential:

• Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master s preferred).
• 8+ years of progressive experience in system administration, with at least 2 years in a managerial or advisory capacity.
• Deep expertise in Windows Server (2016/2019/2022) and Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
• Strong hands-on experience with Linux distributions (RHEL, Ubuntu, CentOS).
• Proven track record managing cloud infrastructure (AWS or Azure) including EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, or equivalent Azure services.
• Advanced knowledge of virtualization (VMware vSphere or Hyper-V).
• Solid understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, VPN, VLANs, routing, and load balancing).
• Experience with backup solutions (Veeam, Commvault, or similar) and disaster recovery methodologies.
• Scripting proficiency in PowerShell or Bash.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure during critical incidents.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English (Arabic is a plus).
• Preferred:Industry certifications (e.g., MCSE, RHCE, AWS Solutions Architect, VCP, or ITIL).
• Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) or hybrid cloud environments.
• Prior experience working in Saudi Arabia or GCC region is advantageous.
